We must sign David Fifita.

As the title says, we must go hard for David Fifita and throw everything at him and make him our number 1 priority. He is going to be one of the games best forwards and we need him. At 19 he is already destroying opposition teams, she he learns the game more he is only going to get better. A player we can build a team around.

Jessie Ramien would be awesome to replace Jennings as well. Jennings can't be resigned because he offers nothing now.

  • Jennings is so done. I don’t want to hear people saying we should waste 350k or whatever just because he “helps” sivo.. does he really though? A pre season with a new centre can learn what Jennings offers.

    • If we are seriously looking at giving him another 2 years he must be good at giving head. He hasn't had at least one good game in a long time and going backwards very quickly. Heaps of better options out there than Jennings, he needs to finish his career off in England.

  • Parry to centre don’t waste our money on a centre because we have our own. Go hard for Fifita and swap him straight for Ma’u in the no.12 jersey.

    • Yep, not sure on Parry yet, I think he might need a bit more time. Agree with Fifita straight in the 12.

      • CB, problem with that is when do you give him a set chance to establish himself?  He's had two games in the top squad and yes a couple of mistakes but the only way he can (and other young players) show what they can do is to give them their chance.

As I say underneath, by not resigning MJ and even Taka, who I did not mention this time round, Parry can play alongside Fergo who to me is a great reader of the game and the ideal player to help Parry adjust to the top side, we have another young player in Dunster who can play centre but mainly plays on the wing and has speed and strength, how long do you hold them back?

We are talking about chasing Fifita, to which I agree but he wont come cheap but will be a great addition to the side, especially with those who are retiring and leaving, and lets not forget if he does sign with any club after Novemember 1 this year he wont play for the new club untill 2021.

Do we therefore go for more old hacks or keep those we have or give some of our younger players a chance in the top grade?

        • Parry will be a good player in years to come. We properly have enough cash to sign a Ramien or aitkins for a couple of years and have parry as back up. Which he will get plenty of game time through the year with injuries. Taka and Jennings must go, we can't use the spots and cash on them. They haven't been great value over the years and time for new blood.

          • Parry didn't cost a victory in either of the 2 games he played in. He may have cost us a try or two but nearly all newcomers to the big league in any sport make mistakes. No team can win every game and it's no use keeping a player like Parry in 2nd grade. After a good off season I can see him in the top team early next season and he'll learn the ropes as Sivo has this year. I'm not saying Parry has as much potential as Sivo but he looks to me like he will turn out to be a long term first grader. Jennings did look pretty ordinary on Thursday night, so imagine how he'll deteriorate over the next year or two.

            • I remember the first season Semi played.  He made a few bone head mistakes that not even a newcomwer to first grade would make.

Once he caught a ball from the kickoff and then stepped over the sideline!  Had he put his foot out first it would have been a penalty to Parra.

            • We need to use Parrys cheapness for a year or two. Sign another good centre on ok money. Nothing insane.  Use parry as a back up and fall to guy like all great clubs do. Throwing him straight into first grade full time is just stupid. Use him as a back up and he will get a lot of game time through injury anyways.

          • Taka to go. But the idiots who are BA lovers see him as back up. Utility 14. There are rumours he has signed too. FFS I hope not.

Jennings has signed on far less than his current contract. In around $350 which is about right for his experience.
