WE ARE PROFITABLE: LC 2014 ANNUAL REPORT

Great news for our great club.  Got the Leagues Club Annual Report in the mail yesterday and it leaves me in no doubt that Steve Sharp is leading us into a new era at the Eels.  I just read the PESC blog where some nong named Jim Phair was one of a few people still trying to drag our club down.  Well Jim; have a read of this mate and enjoy;

Dear Member,

Today I am proud to present to you the Parramatta Leagues Club 2014 Annual Report. You can download the document here  http://issuu.com/parramattaleagues/docs/parra_leagues_annual_final
After a year of consolidation in 2013, I am pleased to be able to say that 2014 saw a number of great strides for the organisation.

This includes:

  • Best group financial result in over a decade – a $12.5m Leagues Club profit with a consolidated group profit of $6.5m.
  • A net improvement of nearly $2m in our NRL Football operations from a $7.5m loss in 2013 to $5.6m in 2014 - resulting in the first reduction of the NRL grant from the Leagues club since 2010.
  • Completion of Stage 1 of our new High Performance Centre at Old Saleyards Reserve that has provided the NRL team’s first dedicated training facility in 69 seasons.
  • The first profit at Vikings Club since its acquisition demonstrating the value of this important group asset.
  • Unveiling of development plans for a $100m entertainment precinct between Parramatta Leagues Club and Pirtek Stadium.
  • The Eels achieving a new NRL membership record of 20,312.

I am delighted to say that our Board charter of “Club first, team second, individual third” has helped us achieve some remarkable turnarounds and progress on our journey.

There is still a lot to be done and goals to be achieved but our increased level of stability, professionalism and good governance has created a great platform to launch into new era for this great club both on and off the field.

Stay Strong.... Stay United....Stay Blue & Gold.

Best Regards,

Steve Sharp
President

  • That's excellent news Jimmy, it confirms Sharp and his management team are running the club better than it has been for a long time. We're on the up with Steve and his crew.

  • We're not favorites, so we're in with a chance.
  • Spanner your post reminded me of Jack Gibson's famous saying, "Winning starts in the front office"

And I think we are in with a good chance this arvo!

  • I guess this is what we have been waiting for, these kind of results. Where here now so it's up to us to stay there, anybody complaining & wanting change on the board is only out to look after there own interest. Now for our footy team to turn there attitude around & become a force & you'll see better results again next year.
