You may agree or you may with the appointments of Brad Arthur and Daniel Anderson. However, what is undeniable is that our club is now in a position to get back in touch with the essence of Parramatta.
Anderson and Arthurs are both Parra boys. Through and through. I reckon both have pretty much landed their dream jobs. They will give 100 per cent to those roles. They aren’t roles that are a means to arriving somewhere else, both will want to be in those jobs for many, many years to come.
It’s a re-birth that Parramatta fans started when they clearly voted in Steve Sharp as Chairman. Sharpie has had a tough first six months on the job - he’s made some clangers, but what is undeniable as is his passion and belief.
I know the club has been working hard to reverse the direction of moving away from Parramatta, sorry Pirtek, Stadium. We’ve been told there is good news coming on the High Performance Centre front, and we won’t be shifting more games to ANZ, and hopefully will start bringing them back home as well.
I said earlier in the year, that the club was in a position to move into one of two directions. Merge with a club like the Tigers and attempt to become a western sydney super club, or re-embrace our heritage and become Parramatta again.
Like the appointments, we have no idea about whether this is all the right way forward but I feel good about where I see the club as being at right now. I don’t think Arthurs will try and turn us into a Melbourne, as Kearney did, but he might instill a bit of the grittiness that saw our defence improve so markedly in 2011.
As we move forward, in whatevery direction our new leaders take us, I think we have to never again throw the baby out with the bathwater. You have to keep moving with the latest trends in the NRL and the wider sporting community, but you also have to stay true to the DNA that makes Parramatta, Parramatta.

Dude, I've bagged the board where they deserved to be bagged. I have been highly critical of their communication since they have come to board and I've been highly critical of Steve Sharp consistently showing up in the papers and not keeping the process behind doors. And I don't just come on here and sound off, I tell them personally as well.
But I've also been on record as saying that I wanted a number of things to come out of the club.
1) Home games being at Parramatta
2) A General Manager of Football or equivalent position
3) I wanted some 'Parramatta' appointments.
I got all three, why wouldn't I be happy. I've heard a lot of shit about what's been happening at board level, and a lot of it I don't like - they have to get their shit together. But whatever process it took to get there, and I'm pretty happy with the outcomes. I said even when it looks JT was going to get the gig, that I thought BA would have been the safer bet.
If you prefer to listen to the mainstream media, which sells papers by describing everything related to Parramatta as being dysfunctional or shambolic go ahead. There are other clubs who have just as much crap go on in their boardroom - they're just generally smart enough to keep it behind doors. I sincerely and honestly believe we've got a decent platform to move forward from. There are pretty simple things we have to fix up now, but we now have most of the elements in place.
Nobody knows if any of these hires are going to be right ones. I'm going to give them all the opportunity to prove themselves. I like some of them, more than I like the others.
What do you actually consider a disgrace?
BOB r u EGJ??
you're a happy twat Bob, aren't you
I think most people preferred JT for the job as he is the more high profile and well known of the two. The appointments of Arthur and DA are great for the club in the long term. Most league supporters don't understand how important a coaching/technical director can be for a club. Tottenham in the EPL have one in Franco Baldini, who will make a tremendous difference given his experience.
Anway, welcome back to Parra! Onwards and upwards!!
Whilst I preferred JT to get the job I do think BA will still do a good job and I wish him and the club all the best. I will be renewing our season tickets.
However, I do have concerns about the process of BA getting the job and what that may mean in any future litigation the club may have to endure. Hopefully it can all be settled.
Your inside info was wrong.
Why the change ?
Cue all the butt lickers agreeing with one eyed
I agree with the appointments of Arthur and Anderson (actually very excited about it) I also agree with 1eyed's blog which only to the negative reads as propaganda and hidden agendas.
I can't wait for them to both get stuck into their new roles. The clouds are lifting....
New major sponsors, new coach who IMO was the best man for the job and our first GMF who is an eels man through and through and will get our junior structures back in place and also an ear Arthur can bounce some ideas off. DA was also a head coach who had success.
I'm over any more negativity from members now the coaching decision has been made. Arthur was my first pick but I would have put my support behind JT 100% if he got the role. I hope all the eels faithful do the same
My batteries have been recharged. Bring on 2014.
Ps. I have never licked 1eyed's ass. Not on his pay role, don't know him or his history.
Just a good positive read that I agree with.
