We are chasing James Tamou - Slothfield

I nearly choked on my cornflakes this morning reading Phil Rothfield's Monday morning Buzz column;

GUN FOR HIRE

In a great sign for the NSW Blues, James Tamou made 227 metres for the Cowboys against the Roosters in just 46 minutes of game time. No wonder the Parramatta Eels are chasing him to replace the soon-to-retire Anthony Watmough.

Hope it's true.

He also said this about the Eels;

PARRA PLUNGE

The TAB has responded to Parramatta’s outstanding start to the season by slashing their premiership odds from $26 to $11 in three weeks.

  • Another positive thing about our odds being slashed is that clearly it means the betting markets don't think we'll lose any points....

    • I keep thinking the same Fishie. Bookies know what's going on - the "betting suspended" announcement would be a telling blow..

    • Or that it will be 4 points only which wouldn't hinder our chances of making the 8 too much. I really hope we don't lose any!!! This season is looking so promising, it would be pretty devastating.

    • It doesn't really work that way. The bookies are about covering their backsides, the bookies are probably like everyone else, they aren't sure we are going to lose points or how many points so they can't afford to post odds that reflect a deduction of points even if they are 75% sure we will be.

  • I would not know what to believe with this bloke; he writes such rubbish at times. Talks through his mates most of the time.

  • Through his uncle I heard that the last time he resigned with the cows it was between them and the eels, the cows won as a loyalty signing as they gave him his start as a teenager. This time we might actually have a chance. NOTE: my source is his uncle not the man him self so who knows ( consider that my ass covered)
  • how many times have we tried to sign this guy????
    didn't ricky try??
    • Roughly the same number of times we've attempted to sign JT..... or Cronk.Or maybe Hock....

  • Still not sold of Tamou. He did have a good game against a woeful roosters team. Pretty much all the Cowboys forwards dominated. Let's see how he goes against the broncos.
    • would of rather kept Junior.......he is a beast!!!! cant believe we let him go
