We are a center short

As of this point, I think Brad Taka (not even going to try and spell his surname) is our best center option.

After the first game however, it appears he is our ONLY option. I think Beau Average is only marginally better than Captain Morgan (in that he actually passes the ball).

But looking at us moving forward, we need a strike center.

Does anyone know any that comes off contract at the end of this year?

Also Reece Robinson is on a one year deal. PLEASE for the love of god, re-sign him to an extended contract. That bloke can do EVERTHING - Kick goals, set up tries and speed to burn!

  • I totally agree about Robinson! He's a great buy! The centres are far more compose with ball in hand. Aside from Morgans poor ball handling and lack of confidence he misses a lot of tackles. We'll see what happens against better opposition in the coming weeks
  • We have plenty coming through the ranks Falou, Fabian, look most likely. Champion and Tanga are only on one year contracts makes me believe BA will blood a junior at some stage.
    • I agree with Falou being our best up and coming prospect. If he goes great in Wenty, I hope he gets a shot at FG over Morgan.

Saying that, I still like the idea of a world class centre. At the moment, we are using our wide running back rowers and over laps to compensate their lack of one-on-one strike power.

      Just my thought... :)

  • I don't think champion got as many opportunities down his side . I reckon he'll be fine.i know what you mean though, a tahu or a umm....loko is what we need.
  • I told you guys Robinson would be a great buy. Tigers would be spewing they cancelled Taka's 3 year deal I am not big on Champion
  • Hoppa back to centre, Norman to fullback, Foran and Sandow in the halves. This is what I am suspecting may happen????
    • I was thinking the same thing mate. Certainly not out of the question.

    • Lol leave the team alone! Why would you change anything particularly Hoppas position? He's a very good fullback. Champion is big and a good defender. Lol some people are never happy!
  • Taka really impressed me last night.
His size means he can comfortably tackle his opposite one on one, meaning Semi can stay on his man. This is a great attribute.
He also has great footwork to be able to skip outside his man and create an overlap for Semi. He did this regularly last night.
    Again, another quality signing.

Reece Robinson is greased lightning. I always rated him when he was at Canberra and was excited to hear we signed him for this season. He's making the most of his opportunities and if he keeps this up it won't be long before he gets a longer deal. Great signing.
    • Taka had a couple of good opportunities to draw and pass. For the most that I can remember, he made the right decisions.

Only one where his pass went to ground and out.

"I really like Samrani but if JR decides to give him up for MB I think that is a massive mistake.
IMO Samrani should be 1st drop for either centre/ wing if one of our starters is out. Brian Kelly is bog average and not going to get better.
