I have noticed a few comments suggesting that we are over achieving and that we are pretty much the same team as last year. But I have to disagree with those thoughts and here are my reasons why we are a lot better team than last year.
1. Paulo: One of the best buys of the season, not only can he bend the line but his offloads creates second phase play that creates space. He passes the ball really well which is rare for a big fella.
2. Sivo/Fergo Without doubt the best winger combo in the comp and one of the best I have seen. Both are excellent finishes and both have Size and strength and their carrys really do help our forwards out.
3. Shaun Lane: I have been really impressed with this guy, he is in our top 3 every week. He attracts a few defenders every time and is very good at getting the offload. Honestly can't believe Manly let him go.
4. Nathan Brown: In my opinion our best forward. His line speed and aggression has won us many games this year. We really missed him last year when he was injured, our defence seem to be much better when he is playing.
5. Mitchell Moses: This has been touched on by many of you so I will be brief. Has taken his game to a whole new level. He is the most in form half in the and he is a great player as he puts the opposition in two minds. He is leading the comp in try assists which is great to see.
6. Dylan Brown. This kid reminds me of a Thurston/John's type player as he seems to have all the time in the world. His defence is great and he also takes a bit of pressure off Moses as well. He has a long way to go but he definitely has class.
7. Reed Mahoney: My favorite player. He takles his but off and he is leading the takle count which is great. Also a takle efficiency of nearly 90%. He is usually the first in the takle which I love. He has come a long way as a player in the last six months.
8. Nikoure: He has improved immensely since last year. He seems to be able to make meters as well as good in defence. He has an offload in his game which I love.
Those are Just a few reasons why I think our team is a lot better than last year. Are league leaders? No, but I think we are on the right track. What do you guys think? Do you agree or do your views differ?

Special mention Should go to Kayne Evans. He has also improved his game and he has shown that he has some aggression. As well as Manu
It's not hard to be better than the team that came last the year prior. Yes credit to the players and coaching staff but if I'm brutally honest it's been a pretty soft competition this year. An alarming amount of clubs have had poor seasons this year.
I find it interesting that every time we win a lot of our so called fans will give excuses for why the opposition didn't win
I think the major difference is the fitness levels and confidence. We appeared very unfit last year which led to simple mistakes in defence and poor options in attack. Also our confidence was non existent and I think the addition of Blake Ferguson and more professional approach by Moses who has become leader of the side has lifted the confidence of everyone.
As for people saying it is a soft competition or we had an easy draw again, you can only play the teams in front of them. How do they explain the raiders being touted as real chance despite not beating a top 5 side. We beat the raiders as well as the rabbits so we have beaten 2 top 4 sides. We're not on the same level as the storm or roosters yet but that doesn't mean we can't beat them. We would need to play our best and maybe have a little luck though as they simply have better teams with more star players used to the big occasions.
That's right we have beaten 2 top 4 sides and nearly the reigning premiers. I like to give credit when it's due. I don't think we will go all the way this year but we are on the right track
No Hayne and Norman means more Gutho and Moses. That's the winning formula.
The people saying we are overachieving are those that bash BA. They can’t say he is a trash coach directly, so they say it’s luck, a miracle, etc.
But even then they are showing they are dumb as fuck. Overachieving is a good thing. If you overachieved in your job, nobody would be upset.
2016: 13 wins
2017: 16 wins
2018: 6 wins
2019: 13 wins with three games to go
But people still want to act like 13 wins is overachieving. Last year we underachieved, and we fixed it by getting rid of the toxic influences.
I understand that not everyone is optimistic but if we are being far I feel like this team is miles better. We are going to be playing finals footy this year. If we recruit well than we may start pushing for a premiership
I read the heading of this blog & that was enough. Anyone who thinks this side is the same as last year has zero clue about the game.. no need to make points on why or waste your breathe as it’s a very silly argument!
