Just a few observations of Roosters against a very average St Helens side. As usual Roosters strong in the forwards, would love for us to get Kane Evans, and dominated their counter parts.
The halves, Hastings 20 & Nikorima 19 combined well and played like veterans belying their young age. Nikorima has good acceleration, but not a high top speed, and is able to slip easily thru gaps in the defensive wall. I would be running the forwards at him as he is a small bloke to tire him out. Didn't notice any long kicks from either half, maybe a deficiency there, but plenty of mid field bombs.
Laterall (?) Mitchell is a champion in the making with some eye catching runs but the other centre, Copely, frankly I didn't realise he was playing until he scored a try. Had a very quite game. Ferguson also did a competent job at fb but looked a bit shaky a couple of times under the high ball, particularly near the posts, where he gifted a try to SH. Again maybe another weakness that could be exploited.
Overall, with 3 rookie players, Roosters played well considering apparently this this was their first game together. Interesting to see how they go against good NRL opposition.

St. Helens were pathetic though. Their halves Luke Walsh and the other ex panther were serverly hopeless.
