Watmough to Parra

Sorry if this has been covered before, but just reading in the Tele that Watmough has been telling players in the blues team that he's not happy with Manly and wouldn't be surprised if he was playing for the Eels next year. Thoughts? I personally think he's well past his best and that we have too many good back rowers to be looking elsewhere for overpaid players.

2 years on a modest contract would help the young guys. I wouldn't go over board. He may be on the back end of his career but he still has it as he showed in Origin the other night.

  yep, you'd take him on a modest 2-year deal to mentor the younger forwards and get a bit of mongrel in them

I agree, he is a talented player, and I'd happily say that he's a better player than a few of out back rowers. But being a current origin player, I don't think he would be signing a modest contract anywhere. If we were to sign him, we wouldn't be the only club after his signature and we would have to pay a fair bit for him. He's not worth chasing with our current back rowers playing as they are.

Just imagine the young first graders we'd have to shed to accommodate him. Be careful with this.

He has 2 good seasons in him but would rather work wit our young forwards. If it was a swap with b smith or joseph paulo then im all for it.

For the first time in a long time i don't really see us needing to buy anyone. Bring up the juniors and go after Folau.

We have depth we don't need to buy big name players to go good.
