Watmough or Nothing....good call

Parramatta are prepared to give up on this season if Anthony Watmough isn't cleared from the salary cap, with fears the Eels could set themselves back another three years if they shed their best talent to play for points from next week.

  • Yep... I don't think we have a snowballs chance in hell of winning 12 of 15.

Radradra upgrade and Norman signing above all else. If it mean playing dead then so be it.

  • Bloody oath I'm gladmake a stand. We shed players we back where we stated from. Go da mighty eels!
  • I meant started from
  • I don't suppose the NRL would let us blowout this years cap - in for a penny, in for a pound
  • Most definitely! It's all or nothing for me and all the eels fans I work with. Wouldn't be surprised if the playing group felt the same way either.
  • Love this mentality
    • Same....it's Todd get it done.....or go f..k yourself NRL!!!

  • This is the absolute right call.  They will not play in the finals anyway, The NRL could not allow that.  This whole scenario of getting under the cap to play for points is all a ruse to please all parties.  I was gutted yesterday just like everyone else and would have supported them if they went on to compete, even though I realized that the finals were a pipe dream, but common sense finally dawned on me today as to what the NRL were actually asking of us to become compliant and the price is just too high, especially as they are never going to allow us to get near their finals anyway.

If we push to become compliant and in doing so,let go of our future team, then I think we are doing it under duress.  By that, I mean that the NRL have threatened to use a smoking gun on the players to force us to shed players.  I think that smoking gun is to threaten individual players who may have taken paper bags of cash with a tip off to the ATO.  This is what I think Greenburg meant when he said that there may be more to follow.

I hope I am wrong, but I still think the NRL have spent much time planning the control of this mess and they are doing it to finally take control of our club.

Our idiot board have served our club up on a platter and the NRL are salivating over the feast

  • Boohoo, good old Toddy didn't want to see us play for no points like Melb as its not good for the game...what a load of shit.

Didn't want to see us play for no points because that would be hard to justify to a team that started the season cap compliant, more to the point.
    • Or more importantly, he didn't want the team to play for no pints so that fans could still watch the games live and on the Tele. Money is a great motivator even for the NRL.

"De Belin will do a lot of the clean up work, the 3rd man in for our defence. Hopgood is now not alone in that area. He will not be flashy but he will definately do his job."

"positives are Loiero is out. That is a big piece of their middle, he does a lot of clean up work in defence, tightens up the attack. No Katoa and they are umming and arring whether to play Ativalu Lasati or Joe Chan on right edge.
