Watmough could now stay at manly

Champion forward Anthony Watmough could remain at the Manly Sea Eagles following a dramatic changeover of the club’s ownership. The move will have dramatic ramifications and could even effect the future of Watmough, who was set to depart to the Parramatta Eels.Under the previous structure, the head of Quantum Phil Sydney, was heavily involved with coach Geoff Toovey in assembling the roster and negotiations with players. It was his decision not to offer to club legend Glenn Stewart a contract which split the playing group.

  • Maybe a blessing in disguise - if they dont get him surely we will be the most aggressive club when it comes to recruitment with him staying put and Hayne gooooooonnnnnneeeeee.

Use the money to extend Peats' contract.

    • Make him an eel for life ;)
  • COME ONNNNNNNN COME TO PARRA CHOC OLD MATE!

  • Funniest part of all this is when he was coming to us manly fans were like 'good he is too old now, his best years are behind him, go on piss off' now if he stays it will be 'good on ya choc, champion one club man.' Wankers.
  • You're still welcome Choc. Please come.

    • I don't believe DCE was the problem
It was the executive expecting loyalty but not giving any back to the players
If the boss is chopped it will be peaches
  • Please be true. Stay at Manly

  • I think Coyote is on the money. From the report it looks like David Perry's job might be up in the air as well. From what I've heard just about anyone associated with Manly hates Perry.

Although DCE was a small amount of the issue!

  • So we made space for this bloke and then lose Hayne, if he doesn't come does that mean we have around 1.5m to spare????
