Was it the loss we had to have

Let's face it we were never going to win 6 in a row with our inconsistent form.

3 wins in a row seems to be our ceiling.

We play our next game at home and if we win I believe we play the winner of Cronulla and the Cowboys.

The loss also takes any complacency out of the team.

I still believe we can win the grand final IF

Moses plays

Jakob doesn't

Just going for a glass half full scenario to try and hold the depression of last night at bay

    • Why

  • No

This wasn't a loss to be proud of, we could take some confidence away from the game if it was an effort to be proud but it was far from it.

We were massively outclassed and found out big time, there would be some dented egos in the sheds.

    • That's kind of my point John

A real wake up call for some of our "superstars " that they need to be 100% at all times to win this comp.

We were leading with 30 minutes to go and we were far from our best and then Moses goes down.

If the score was 8-7 and Cleary goes off for the last 30 minutes do we win the game way below our best

  • I said we couldn't beat the Panthers last night cause I couldn't see us beating them 4 times in a year.

I think the loss has the potential to kick start a run but it depends on the bench selection and rotation

BA needs to be fair dinkum now and pick the best 17 players at his disposal - JA and Maka don't cut it sorry.

If he does then I think we play Penrith in the GF and we can roll them with better handling and pressuring the chin.

    • Watched both eels vs riff games on Kayo today in full .. Simmonson caught every bomb Cleary put up including a floater and all were under pressure.. if we make the GF   Brad has to swap Simons on for waqa Blake.I recon we can beat them if we play with intensity of those two matches

  • I was ok with the loss, I think we are worse when the media start talking us up - you know we're the only team to have beaten the panthers twice this year, the battle of the west blah blah. We seem to only perform when no one gives us a chance. We don't have any injuries (Moses will be cleared to play and we are avoiding the rabbits for another week). This loss isn't the end of the world.

  • Why? When we know a Melbourne team with their halfback back from injury will flog an Arthur coached team. And a coach who's holding a gun to the club's head demanding his son gets picked

    • I did say at the end of the blog that Jakob can not be on the bench.

If Brad picks him and we lose he will have nowhere to hid from the fans and the media who will take great pleasure in reminding everyone we have gone out in the second week again.

I got an email yesterday about my automatic membership renewal.

I'm not being flippant when I say if Brad pick Jacob on the bench again and we lose I'm not renewing it.

It's the only thing this administration understands.

If our membership dropped 10% they would shit themselves

  • Can't see a win with BA's approach. Gassed forwards that don't get replaced because of a stupid selection and rotation policy.
