Just walked in, flicked on the telly and witnessed one of the strangest (unwarranted) penalties against the Warriors.
At 16-16 with 5 mins on the clock, the broncs dropped the ball near the NZ line and suddenly the ref blows a marker penalty (way after the drop ball) against the poor marker who just fell backwards away from the play the ball area.
Of course the penalty was right in front and there goes the game.
I've always been dubious of "the nrl is rigged" calls. But fairdinkum that was such a bad call, it couldn't be an accident

I must admit but that call the other night against the Pests, the one against Reynolds I thought was odd. I cheered though but thought what a strange penalty and yet Ignlis didn't contest it...
ye that half time try by the bronco was not a try or the last
I only saw the last 15 mins. Will have to check out the rest of the game.
My initial thought was Checkin got the call to make sure the game finished quickly for the cricket.
The Broncos have a bigger fan base and needed the win more. We got screwed in the Warriors and Bulldogs games by the refs and lost. Many games look rigged
The microphones don't pick up the crowd volume that well, so it's hard to tell how much of an influence they would have had. I'm sure the Parra crowd helped us win vs Manly and Souths
Well they got the game handed to them by the refs last week so I have no sympathy for them.
Haha.... great point!
Think a linesman ran it to give a very biased account of pushing in the ruck. Really there would have been 10 ruck pushes in that game far worse than the one penalised, but of course, they were further away from the posts.
