This notional value seems to get trotted out for some clubs but not for others. Talk about an uneven playing field.
I've often thought the same about Storm players.
If Cam Smith, Cronk, Slater, Bromwich and even Munster put themselves on the open market, what do you reckon their offers would be? Imagine what Cam Smith would be offered by, let's say St George?

Brisbane can do no wrong. It's interesting the clubs who manage to make signings like this: Brisbane, Melbourne, Easts. I don't know what it is about them. Maybe they are all run by CEOs who don't back down to the NRL. Hope Bernie does the same.
they have strong boards with strong corporate connections, creating a massive TPA advantage. i don't begrudge them of that.
what i do have against the broncos is their blatant conflict of interest having news ltd as majority owner and the size of their captive audience without competition. news ltd again being an influence on maintaining this monopoly.
He would have to be on minimum $800 and more as he is moving O/S. But I go back to Sterlo a couple of months ago and he said about being concerned that Foran can leave Parra and then sign elsewhere months later....and we are almost seeing this.
Gillett on $500? please that has to be checked. But it is QLD...
