Warriors.co.nz Injury Report

Centre Konrad Hurrell’s knee injury could keep him out for another week as the Vodafone Warriors prepare for their first home game of the 2015 NRL season against Parramatta at Mount Smart Stadium on Saturday (5.00pm kick-off). Hurrell left the field after injuring his left knee early in the season-opening clash against the Knights although he was able to return later to play out the game.

He had issues with the knee for the rest of the week ruling him out of the second-round outing against Canberra yesterday. Fullback Sam Tomkins and halfback Shaun Johnson both needed treatment during yesterday’s 18-6 win against Canberra, Tomkins for a leg complaint and Johnson after a painful blow to his lower left arm when he was jammed in a tackle in the first half.

On returning home on Monday afternoon, Vodafone Warriors head coach Andrew McFadden said Tomkins had no post-match issues but Johnson might need a scan to check the extent of his injury. Two players – hooker Siliva Havili and back rower Raymond Faitala-Mariner – made successful returns from injury with the club’s New South Wales Cup side against Canterbury-Bankstown on Saturday. Prop Charlie Gubb (foot) was set to join them but was held back another week and is now set to be available for selection this weekend after last playing in the trial against Gold Coast on February 7.

Senior prop Sam Rapira and outside back Ken Maumalo are expected to be back in two to three weeks from hamstring injuries while there is no projected time frame for centre Ngani Laumape (knee) to make his return.
