Warriors chasing Luke Burt

I hope Burt finishes his carreer at Parra. I can't see him going to New Zealand..."The Warriors are believed to have Parramatta grand-final winger Luke Burt on their wish list.The Auckland club contacted Burt's agent last month about the 28-year-old's contract status with the Eels.He is off contract at the end of 2010 but could be released early due to salary-cap constraints.The Warriors' recruitment and development manager, Dean Bell, was reluctant to comment about Burt yesterday but confirmed his name had been mentioned in discussions.''We haven't been in contract discussions as such,'' Bell said. ''It's just a case that he is one of a number of players we have been looking at.''In other news, Daniel Mortimers younger brother Tim has been invited to train with the Eels top squad next year. I've been a big Luke Burt fan for years and hope he stays. However, with Tahu coming in and Grothe now staying something like this was always on the cards. I don't think Burt will be with us next year.

Burt's loss would be similar to Brett Hodgsons release, a false economy and a complete undervaluation of that players talent and contribution. Parra would be stupid to let him go.

i am not sure how accurate that article is because Luke Burt doesn't have an agent for starters and 2ndly the warriors dont buy good players anyway lol

Tim wont be in the top 25, they are just blooding him for FG for potential injuries, or for the season after. Daniel was training with the top squad since the start of the season yet wasn't in our top 25 IIRC.

it will be a massive mistake by the eel the let luke burt go , he has been brilliant , outstanding and has been loyal to the eels.

To put it into easy terms ( NO WAY ) BURT IS AN EEL TRUE BLOOD , his tallents are needed with us , the eels to let burt go would be an insult to hindy and cayless !!!!!!!!!!!!!! and an insult to burt and eels fans who go to watch him tear sides apart. Burt is a true hero in my eyes .

Burt won't go anywhere. As if he's lost 2 GF's with us and won't be about to hightail it when we have a great chance of making amends next year.

I would be disappointed if Luke left us he really has done some wonderful things for us this year.

In regards to Tim Mortimer - what position does he play and what is he like as a player for our future?. I was speaking to one of the GF touchies and he was trying to tell me that there is no way the mortimer's will stay with Eels that they will definitely go to the Doggies as that is where their hearts are and always will be.... I really hate hearing this crap and I hope he was just trying to get under my skin..... If Tim is as good as Daniel i hope we lock them both in for a number of years...... It's time the Eels keep our young guns....
