Vs Newcastle 3 - 2 - 1

Posted by Blue Eel on April 28, 2023 at 7:44pm

What an attacking display tonight, shame about the bombed chances but i'll take a win any day of the week.

3 - Mitch Moses was on fire tonight and was in everything

2 - Gutherson backed up like an origin player

1 - Hopgood massive most metres ran, 20 hitups , 3 tackle breaks, 4 offloads, close to 50 tackles with only 2 missed.

Special mention to Penisni / Paulo and Sivo

If this club has half a brain, they should look to extend and lock up both Gutho and Hopgood for a very long time

Spot on, I can't change that

    3 MM

    2 Gutho

    1 Hopgood, Penis, Paulo

    Hopgood.
    Brown.
Wiremu- He tried his guts out and he made a big impact. So happy for him.

once he cuts out the drop balls he will be great impact. He is not a tackle breaker but has great leg speed (pcm) and aggression in defencd

Completely agree. He's quick which is a massive asset for a big middle.

    3. Moses. He was on fire tonight and proved two things. One, he is worth the money and 2, he is a better halfback than Hynes.

    2. Gutho. He is the king.

    1. Emu. He stepped up big time with Reg out and had a cracker.

That wasn't based just on tonight's game. His all round game is better than Hynes.

"Jack is the priority IMO. PNG are keen in him so gettinn him signed before November ineeds to be priority. Moretti plays a ryles style and runs great lines. He'd be my second priority of the three. Ideally we sign all 3. "

"Which is where the club may have shown their hand with talk of Sammy T, Williams and Moretti getting extensions, but not Hopgood. Well as of yet."

LB replied to Roy tannous's discussion Eels in talks to resign Jack Williams Luca Moretti and Sam tuivati
"No no, hey I agree. As a club we need to be smart. Hopgood's body doesn't seem able to go through and entire year back to back. Koina seems like a similar player but is a bigger body to be a better ball runner and is cheaper.
Just smart management.…"

JC replied to Roy tannous's discussion Peter O’Sullivan signs with broncos
"Mon is the next piece of the puzzle to fall. I suspect he will be given time under the new administration to Impress, if he comes up short of expectation he will be moved on and then the next under the spotlight will be ryles.
May only the strong…"
