With Roosters and Penrith back to back, with bye in the middle, we need to be on. With Ryles, I imagine he gave them a spray, see if they respond.

I just look at the forward packs. Ours are to small. We struggle to get over the advantage line.

It is simply NOT (lack of) size that is explaining times where the Eels struggle to go forward. Tuivati, Brown and Maetele are not small props. Kautonga and Tuilagi are not small backrowers. Paulo was not in form prior to injury but being a short 110kg prop never limited him in the past and Doorey & Moretti are both high leg speed runners (Williams too).
If the claim is that the Eels don't go forward, it's not for lack of size. I suggest starting with dummy half service, which often finds our forwards and backs hitting it up but not receiving on the advantage line. But is that just dummy half service? Is our running just not well timed? And with so many injuries, the typical one-two run pattern just doesn't seem to have been established (who runs first, who second, and where). And it goes without saying there appears to be little inventiveness through the middle, so maybe defenses just read us too easily.
All these things are part of the story. Imagining it's just size pretends there is a quick fix while overlooking the degree of size there in the props and backrow.
Our PCM are low, they are always dominated in the tackles and almost always being pushed back by the opposing teams. Conversely, our tackles are too soft and we do not secure the hand carrying the ball that often allowed the tackled player to offload. Likekwise, our fitness seems always to be the issue.
The Knights rank below the Eels in post-contact meters and the Knights are equal 2nd. Indeed Warriors, Bunnies, Sharks and Knights are all in the Top 8 (ladder) but Bottom 8 (PCM). Not hearing anyone say those teams lack go forward. And are we sure the low PCM is not being dominated by poor backfield meters? Simmonson then Kelly try real hard but overall the Eels often find themselves rucking it out one up off their line
But set aside low correlation PCM and ladder position. Or other factors affecting PCM. The Eels literally do not lack size. Again, just compare Tuilagi and Kautoga. They're bigger backrowers than Penrith's, who are first. And there is no way it holds up to day Tuivati, Brown and Maetele are small props.
Size is not the problem.
Lastly, shifting the topic to defensive frailty or fitness doesn't establish that the pack is small. We watch games and see regular defensive misreads and players huffing and puffing after linebreaks and repeat sets. Their defense sucks but that is self-evidently lack of skill and coordination not simply "too small"
