V'Landys on Hello Sport

Happy Monday, if anyone wants a good laugh to start their week, skip to 32:50 mark and listen to this f***wit talk. It is laughable seriously. Claiming the offer of $300k was a great deal and we can put that into our junior system. But said we can put some money into the cap but at same time said they cannot break the rules in regard to cap as it is unfair. But can break the rules with contracts?

    • Seriously? This is where we are at with moderation?

If this is the new normal, fuck this

      • Randy,

This is an NRL-related thread. We don’t need to hijack it with American politics or broader political grievances, which unfortunately, all too often escalate into socio-politico war zones or worse that undermine the common bond within this community.

If a group sits down to discuss one specific issue and someone repeatedly introduces unrelated topics, asking to stay on topic isn’t censorship, it’s simply maintaining focus for the benefit of the group. I'd also add American politics is often a very highly divisive subject.

If you want to discuss US politics, please open a separate blog in the social section or other appropriate space. Personally, I don't have issues with such discussions.

Let’s keep things on topic and avoid unnecessary escalation.

        • You should have lived in my marital home HOE

There was more hi jackings in family convo than 9-11

          • Carlo, LOL. I’d end up in the doghouse if I hijacked conversations willy nilly.

The irony in all this is that more freedom, fewer boundaries, does not automatically lead to more harmony or contentment. Often, the opposite.

Brett has happily posted for years on TCT without a flag avatar.

Not a peep of discontent from him about it. Nor from any other 1EE posters over there.
            No outrage.
            No complaints.
            No fireworks.

On here, it was the opposite. A soap opera that dragged on for years.
            Accusations of censorship.
            Wokeness.
            Talk of overreach.
            Cancel culture.
            Exit threats.

It is interesting how some 1EE posters on TCT are perfectly respectful and steer clear of politics, yet here it seems to always escalte into socio-poltical warzones and dog fights.

Apparently, that's consistent with many studies, but I do not need them to tell me what I see with my own eyes.

In a strange way, it even echoes the Lomax saga, the debate about contract boundaries, and whether clubs sometimes feel pressured by larger forces who don't treat others' boundaries with as much respect.

At some point, you either accept that. Roll over. Or you decide to stand your ground, even if it costs you a few friends along the way. I'm glad the club isn't rolling over.

            • 1. My original comment was on topic. Someone said "it made no sense". I replied "It makes sense like Trump makes sense". This comment meets the standard for deletion how exactly? Is Trump unmentionable now? Unable to be mocked? Why was it deleted?

              2. This was not political commentary. Mitchypoo suggested that the buffoon did indeed make sense. Thereafter I replied only with the Leader of the free worlds own words, each less than 7 words.+1 meme. There is no conversation to take elsewhere because it's not apolitical commentary, it's a tête-à-tête and a litone at that. so approved squabbling  only yay! There was no "repeatedly introduces unrelated topics". Didn't happen but you're doing it now

              3. It was not a threadjack. see above

              4. It's world politics right now Super. What isn't is this Bill & Hillary bullshit Mitchykins throws in below. So it only gets a deletion if I reply to him? Isn't him raising Brown at Newy off topic, I'd hate for folks to lose focus or get confused.

              5. The blog so rudely interrupted by moi is an off-season offhander on NRL politics with have a laugh in the first sentence. This counts in the safe-space program apparently

              Boring

..and Hoe, you need to modify your comment. "It is interesting how some 1EE posters on TCT are perfectly respectful and steer clear of politics," is what i deleted from your blog and started fresh one due to threadjacking. And you brought Brett into it which is political therby worthy of deletion.

              • and then remove the above response from activity....message received.

      • How is American politics even remotely related to a discussion centred on a contract dispute in the NRL?

      • Bummer I can't talk about the Cheeto being a raging pedo and ppl ignoring it ANYWHERE ???!!!

        that sucks

        • Carlo, maybe talk about Hillary and Bill, as there is some good history in this as well! :)

BTW did you see Dylan on fox last night....interesting seeing him in the media up at Newy!

          • Dylan Brown attack for Newcastle was amazing, great start.
