Under 20s

Hey so in a rare but of positives for this year our young fellas are going to be playing finals, whilst they can finish no higher then 5th or lower then 6th its a very good achievement when you consider the latter half of the year they have lost players to wenty and in the case of Reed and salmon to 1st grade.Players like Oregon and Dylan Brown have spent a long time in wenty.Overall this is a rare glimmer of hope interms of the future and the fact that some players are standing up at wenty is valuable aswell. Its been a disgrace of a season in alot of ways but hopefully the best of these young fellas can stay and advance and give us some glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel

    • Its despite him in alot of ways from what im told from within the club not just here
    • Didn't Parra start the junior investment under Kearney???   The academy and hiring Nolan???  If so BA can hardly take all the credit, and after 5 seasons we are now finally starting to see some results.   This crop look very promising but we have had promising crops of juniors before and have gone nowhere.  Having the right person in charge, knowing when and how to use them and having the right coach capable of improving their games.

With Block play Bushy I hardly think he's the man to be in charge of this emerging crop.

      • What Arthur has done with the juniors is to cut from the club.Last night Tway ex Australian schoolboy and ex Eels junior and cut by Arthur rescued West Tigers with an amassing run with the ball for about 60 to 70 metres. We needed tall front row forwards with some speed and go so he got cut! Tway is still young and now getting mature. If he keeps it up he will be a valuable forward.

        • Yeah Alex Twal has got it allright.

And if he shaved down he would have scored on that run last nite.

  • BA walked into an under 20s winning club in which Justin Holbrook took them deep into the finals in 2014. Where are they now - most are playing with other clubs.....

Parramatta are blessed with a massive junior base that nearly always brings success through the matts sg ball and the 20s

It's absolute criminal that a club like Parramatta with that junior base should come nrl last. It's an embarrassment and disgraceful. Its a huge joke

    • That 2014 NYC finals team had missed the finals since 2008
    • Absolutely the silver lining this year is BA had to use them and promote make no mistake if we were mid table reed and Oregon and stone would not of had a run maybe not even marata
      • Our club was indeed remiss in allowing some good juniors to flee in the past.

Of our under 20s class of 2014 only three are still playing 1st grade away from the Eels, while three of that class remain in our top squad.

Last year our young guys came from the clouds to make the GF, and while currently fifth on the ladder I give us a real chance to go deep again in the finals.

We should be very proud of our Juniors  the way they're playing and forget who got away in the past.
