Undeniable Facts

These rules of physics are undeniable and hold true for almost any team sport

  • a good big team will most likely beat a good small team
  • a fast team will most likely beat a slow team
  • a team who controls the ball will most likely beat a team that does not

So what have we dished up the past two weeks - a small slow team that does not control the ball, no wonder we have lost and lost badly!

  • Meh... we beat Souths and Manly. Fact 4 - it's largely about the mental state of the players

    • Agreed and over trained
  • If we're failing at physics, maybe the boys need a physics tutor..... can someone put a call in to Stephen Hawking, Brian Cox or Neil deGrasse Tyson please?
    • I’ve called my mate Brian, but he told me there’s nothing he can help with ’til he’s finished his garbage run at about lunchtime tomorrow.  Is that ok?

    • As long as he brings his full knowledge of the hard sciences, we should be good.
  • Your attitude defines your amplitude. The physical differences between sides is not as significant as the mental. Against Souths the team was mentally switched on (especially Sandow) their energy was up and they were hungry, the same as against Manly and that is what is so frustrating about the last two games, they were flat and just not hungry, that is a worry.
    • The difference in those two wins was we controlled the ball and aggressive in defence. Unfortunately in the losses our handling and ball control was terrible, this is not something new, its been going on for over 4 years now.

  • "Football is a simple game based on the giving and taking of passes, of controlling the ball and of making yourself available to receive a pass. It is terribly simple." Bill Shankly. Easily applicable to rugby league.

  • I believe that is not enough.

The team that plays as a team, with the most WILL, will most likely succeed.
