Tyrone Roberts

Is looking at returning to the Nrl. What do people think? All depends on whether Norman stays for 2019. Ffs. It wasn’t this difficult being an eels supporter in the 80s.

  • Tyrone Roberts is about 10% of the player Norman is.

The fact is there isn’t any off contract half that is better than Norman so we are legitimately stupid if we let him go
    • I agree

      • Roberts plays well on occasions, and has to be given an invitation to do so with incentives, sign him for $1.00 a game with another $10.00 if he participates, and does something, why is he returning? maybe no one wants him over there,

I mentioned elsewhere that we are likely better off holding on to Norms next year and have Salmon as back up. At least that way the club does not have to pay money towards his contract.

    • Only reason I’d get rid of him is to free up cash. I saw someone saying the Taupau deal is pretty dependant on what happens with Norman.
  • Massive no
  • those that want norman gone will regret it if he goes.

    • Nudger,  No one can really deny that on his day he is a top range player, problem is that his days are less than is needed for a player on his coin and position in the team.

If he was to show more consistency in showing his skills there would be no question on his staying, unless there are still off field issues to deal with. That is to me the greatest concern especially with Fergo and more so Jnr coming on board next year, owing to their off field history, which I hope has been put aside, having Sege jf he come adds another distraction that could erupt.

  • He has joined the Titans
  • Norman's played garbage this year. He is still in the top halves in the comp. The other way is to get a young half and offer them opportunity such as salmon or laiu.
  • Laiu is signed for 2019 with Penrith

The irony in all this is that more freedom, fewer boundaries, does not automatically lead to more harmony or contentment. Often, the opposite.

"Question is, would Vlandy be saying what he is saying now if it is not the Storm who is interested in Lomax. Will he say and do the same thingif say it was the Tigers?"
