Coming into the NRL as a centre is a really tough gig. Your backline defence is really dependent on every man back there working in unison and coming up with the right decisions. That's where young outside backs fall short. For all the criticism Vai gets, he does a pretty good job in D for someone who is essentially a back-up to a back-up.
We might have a bit more confidence though, if it came down to it, would could let a player like Folau go an Tyrell could come in if we do get a few injuries and don't have any other options.
Tyrell I believe is one of the players off contract end of this year. This is something that needs to be resolved now as to which players the club needs to resign.
There is quite a few of them, depending on which list one looks at, the last one I looked at on the TCT site shows 24 off contract at years end, and it will be a hard call as to who goes & who stays.
My opinion is that the likes of Tyrell & some others on the list are essentials for the future, they are young & would rather see them in the B&G & not against us.
Toutai's defense is pretty Rubbish Got stood up on the weekend pretty bad..
Would have been easy to stand him up as we didnt play on the weekend
Good kid, talented kid, but he ain't ready for first-grade right now.
And he's down the pecking order right now.
I believe he will stay with the club but he's certainly a 18-24 month prospect at this stage, rather than an immediate one.
He's still playing mostly Holden Cup every week, and so is yet to make the permanent step-up or transition to the NSW Cup arena where he plays against the bigger, more experienced bodies.
