I have waited to Sunday to write this, as I had difficulty in getting my feelings right about our performance.

I agree that Harper was treated/judged harshly by some over his performance. He did some very good things using his initiative and seeing he was posted out there with only Dylan sweeping across to help he did pretty well in a comparative sense. I actually think he could play winger if required as his jamming showed more judgement than our wingers typically have shown.

I have mentioned in posts if Hands was selected purely to give Lussick a rest, what was the point. He could have moved into feeding the scrum and having Moses and Brown playing one spot wider, alleviating the embarrassing need of Tulagi being in the centres. First choice Telagi for this role no problems, but 5 minutes into his new position it was obvious he had no lateral defensive ability. Surely this was realised in the pre season?......it really was that obvious! poor work from the coaches in not being aware of this!

I hate providing ammunition to the BA haters but really some lateral thinking here was not hard. IMO this game was given away by poor decisions intra game by the coaching staff in not addressing this situation within 5 minutes of it being obvious. If we did not have a cover defender the likes of Dylan Brown the score could have been anything.

KIck chasing and putting pressure on the Penrith defenders was too obvious to be true and the embarrassing tries (2) that Penrith scored with half plus of the team being stationary was very difficult to accept.

We can complain all we want but the team should be lined up and kicked up the arse. Then the coaching staff also lined up and kicked up the arse by the players for being let down by their off field leaders.

This is 2 points we won't get back and reminds me of games last year we should have won!

Not good enough Parra, losing Simmonson a couple of minutes into the game should not have been game ending......any good chess player should have run all the possibilities and  had  ready made solutions. While we are kicking arses lets throw in the Chairman and the CEO and their board for their piss poor communication!

PS I want to kick arse early because there is no point when we are 5 out of 10 in 10 weeks time.

  • Fair assessment Poppa, I wrote in my blog coming up that I understand some parts why BA did what he did but still wrong call. He wanted to keep the status quo as much as possible, didn't want to change the rotation of bench and combinations with Moses and Carty doesn't mean it was best choice.

  • Hindsight is a wonderful thing I guess. Talagai is typically a left side back rower so I can understand why BA put him there and left Cartwright on the right for his combination with Moses but everyone could see we were getting torn to shreds so why did it take so long to change

    • Yes, but this alternative should have been practiced (rehearsed) to understand that....on face value I agree with the view he is well structured to fill such a roll, even with our postition in back shortages, you would think with a hole running backrower that maybe this guy could put his hand up.  Whatever they did do preseason they did not work out a plan to protect such an event, whereas everyone knows the best way to attack Parramatta is through this direction.

Its this type of non thinking I cannot understand.

  • Very dumb coaching.  Reminds me of origin last year with Freddy.  Ba still in denial.  Hands is our utility should have gone to 6 and Dylan to centres if u want to keep combination. Regardless I think Ba knows it's his last year unless he wins the comp. This is the part of Ba s coaching that hasn't changed in 11 years.

    • Contrary to the view that BA has some sort of obsession with the position. I don't believe it is the case.

Money has never been an objective for him from the tiime he started with Parra, I think he wants what we all want but for some reason he has difficulty thinking in a technical or logical situation or more pointedly getting some advice on the subject you know your weakest in. It is a standard management practice and it tells me that he cannot effectively delegate or intoduce business type practices.

      • That's true he has limited both technically and logically.  He has 11 years to employ people that can. Penrith mates were laughing at the decision and rubbing their hands together.

  • Shit coach same shit result

Start sacking from the top and keep going O'Neill and Arthur

Recruitment of any kind is appalling

    • He is not a shit coach per say. He is enigma and you don't just sack people unless you understand and identify his weaknesses outweighing his strengths. I found his pressor on friday night was very positive but in a unconvincing way. There was no certainty in anything he said. says to me he doesn't have the answers.....our quest needs to be a coach that does?

You only have to look at the other teams to see that the system is not over endowed with alternatives.

Talking about communication with the board, I can refer to the fans and the medium they want/need to use, by explaining what is happening from time to time, but also their own communication within the staff structure that makes Parra Football tick.

This is where the arse kicking comes into the equation....someone needs to do some!

This leaves us with the board and what they want and in turn are missing, when I talked about communication, you can confer that with their own people sitting onside the brand of Parra Footy.

      • Poppa most fans were screaming for BA to be replaced by Flanagan. Watch him turn that shit hole known as the Dragons around in quick time.

We missed our chance to move on from BA and now I fear the only replacement we will find will be another rookie or coach no other club wants - it's how we roll.

        • The stench around Mr Peptides seems no existant .....dont want him anywhere near Parra
