Howdy all
Well hasnt there been a response to Snakeys blog about Trump? Sorry if it seems like I am riding your coat tails but Ive noticed an issue with the responses. Although the blog was directed about Trump, i dont think ive seen one response touting the alternative candidate. I am not american so i dont have a large investment in who wins save to say there are implications. Im looking at this from more a sociological view in that as much as most people on here seem to dislike Trump, Snake has done a good job in generating debate and comments. We can see this as a microcosm of the US. Why is Trump still in the race? Because like this site you may dislike him, but you know him. Many of you know his policies because you are opposed to him but you still know. Im not saying they are the right policies or that he will win the election, however in an age of social media, we all know, even in australia who the 'opposition leader' for the US is. Put it this way, if you remove obama how aware of you of american politics and the 'potential' president before this year?Again I am not saying I advocate for his presidency however the point of my blog is that all those people saying he has no chance of winning are fooling themselves --- as I have explained above your not talknig bout hillary are you? Without google, it would be inetresting to know if anyone knows what her policies are????? An interesting side note to this is tha tI was watching CNN the other day and they described the two of the top Repubican candidates (Donald Trump & Ben Carson) as a "Reality tv star" and "a guy that cuts peoples brains open". I havent made it a lifes goal to watch every american news channel re the presidential race holwever these analagies for a succesful business man before he was a 'reality star' and a brain surgeon 'cuts peoples braints open" seem a little over the top to me.. i would much prefer to have seen the alternative preisdents plans for the middle east crisis / global economy / nuclear proliferation / china

Sorry if I added it to parra blogs but the current affairsblogdidnt appear on the drop down on the non mobile site
He unfortunately is crazy and goes off on stupid tangents allowing the media and his political rivals too many easy cracks at him. I personally like his attituded in relation to putting his own country first, I am sick and tired of limp wristed politicians worrying about how the rest of the world views them instead of doing what is best for the people that elect them to government.
Our Government spends 80 million dollars on a royal commission into union corruption at the very same time this is happening we find out that 1.5 million dollars of liberal party funds have been stolen in Victoria. 11 liberal MP in NSW including the former Premier Barry O'farrell have been sacked, resigned or moved to the cross benches for corruption. The liberal federal speaker was removed for falsely claiming tax payer funded travel allowances. Do I need to remind everyone that Tony Abbot when he was the Priminster also had to repay the Australian tax payers after it was found he falsely claimed on his travel allowance?
Priminster Turnbull is prepared to go to an early election if his union reforms are not passed. It is looking like the Australian people will vote in a government based on a witch hunt handed down from a kangaroo court, instead of a government that have policies to address the real issues that Australia is facing. Privatisation of tax payers assets, foreign ownership of both business and more importantly farm land, youth unemployment, affordable housing, medical, education, terrorism, global warming just to mention a few. This is why he is still in the race because people are getting sick and tired of the same shitty politicians telling us the same shit to get elected and then do nothing.
Very enjoyable read. Both parties here have become the champions of PC with self interest groups running the country and being appointed to positions of influence and thus internally promoting only those with like views. Where is Abe Lincoln when you need him? Of the people, by the people, for the people is a distant memory.
Democracy isn't perfect but it is the best system we've got. That is until sometimes when democracy isn't the best system or the system that is required.
Take our club as an example. Years of democracy and where did it get us? In fighting, brawling in the media, too many distractions, millions of dollars wasted and subsequently poor progress toward our end goal of being a success on and off the field.
So we substituted democracy for a benelvent dictatorship and the progress has been astounding. Democracy will return but only when the system democracy works within has been rectified.
I get the feeling our Federal and State politics could benefit from the appointment of a benevolent dictator occasionally. Someone that can take over every now and then and make the decisions necessary, fix up aged and outdated processes, tidy the place up before returning power to the politicians once more. But whilst our politicians main motivation is reelection and opinion polls we will always get PC garbage, waste, rhetoric and snail like process.
VOTE #1 TRUMP

Agree
The hole is getting deeper by the day with new evidence indicating she and her husband returned $$$ donations for political favours.
Will the american people be so dumb as to elect a prseident that looks likely to end up in jail? Ive got a feeling the answer may be no.
Go Trumpy.
