    • Exactly Mick! Watching the replay it looked way more than just accidental!

      • There already is a rule stating that defenders can't shoot in below the knees if the attacking player is held. They have to make contact around the thighs and then slide down.

That being said, long-term research has found that the vast majority of ACL injuries are the result of non-contact issues. I.e. players twisting and getting their foot caught in the ground, landing awkwardly from a jump etc. So players hitting other players are not the largest cause of ACL injuries.

      • Tad. there is news that Manly is wanting an investigation on their homeground playing surface owing to the number of knee injuries that have happened there, seems they are blaming the surface for it.

I was able to watch the tackle again that has put Trex out, and it looks pretty much identical to the one that put Kaysa out last year.  As Trex was falling to the ground one leg was bent under the top leg, and another Wests forward came over his knee area with his full weight going on the middle part of the leg and knee gave way as a result.

There was no malice in the tackle or hint of it being illegal, same with Kaysa last year, ***t happens and nothing can be done about it. Sad really that he was starting to show his value.

  • No big lost

    • Idiot

  • That’s a shame I thought he was doing okay
I don’t wish that injury upon anyone.
He will probably hang up the boots now for good
