Transformation in Hoppa??

After watching Hoppa's performance for us against the Panthers I think that being picked for NSW was probably the best thing for Hoppa and for Parra.

Hoppa performed very well on Friday night after having a solid game for NSW on Wednesday.  He looked more confident and backed his skills and judgement a lot more than he has done so far throughout the year. Some of his distribution was the Hoppa of old and brilliant. I for one hope this is the beginning of a transformation into something special for Hoppa at Parra!!

  • He was his usual solid self, he does strengthen our edge defence and is also a good option under the high ball defensively. His dummy half metres are invaluable as well. Very professional player and can do the tough stuff. Very important to keep him IMO
  • I agree. A fair share of criticism was put upon Hopa on here, including myself.

Maybe that two year lay off may have affected Hopoate more than most would have thought, even though he is the most dedicated trainers at the club. Will only get better.
    • A lot of the critism was probably aimed at him at fullback. Since moving back to centre i think he is performing well.
  • Definitely agree Eel Nut, I also noticed how involved Hoppa was, not just quantity but the quality of his runs. His defence was also impressive. Is it just me or does he seem to have picked up a yard of pace?

    • Maybe half a yard but he needs more.

  • Would love to see him get into open space to see how he goes for speed, seems he's always just slogging it up or its catch and pass . definitely a very good centre.
  • Is his dad still employed at the leagues club pushing stools in?
    • Nice one
  • Compare Hoppa and Jennings. Whilst Hoppa doesn't have the speed, he never sherks the tough stuff. Continually rucks it out takes the hard hit ups and hands as smooth as silk.

Hopefully that groin injury clears up and he will definitely be back to his best.

  • He has excellent dummy half runs. Most times grabs some good meters..
