Training observations, 5/1/15

Just got back from watching about half an hour of the training session today. Unfortunately my vision is a bit poor today so it was difficult identifying all players from a distance. However, I was able to make the following observations:Reece Robinson looked very good at fullback. Very, very fast! The players looked very sharp in the opposed session. Hardly any dropped ball.Good talk during this session. Lots of reminders for Pauli.Sandow looks fit and sharp.Hoppa is a funny bloke. After the session, Hoppa and Semi did extra work with Burt taking bombs. Every time the ball was coming down for Semi, Hoppa said "bad luck Semi" . Semi caught most. Hoppa also praised himself after every catch.IDG did extra dummy half work after the session working on his short kicking game.BA has quite colourful language. There was lots of plays involving decoy runners and balls out the back. The boys in the second string team were putting in the big yards during the fitness work. It was a bit too far away for me to identify individuals but many were outperforming the blue shirt boys.An interesting observation was Tui being spoken to by a trainer for talking to a mate after training. "Hey tui, go and do what you need to do before you catch up with your mate!"That's about all I can tell you. Hope my eyesight is a bit better the next time I watch a session.

  • Good on you sixtiesboy I currently live 3 hours away and cannot get to training sessions so any info from you is much appreciated blurry eyes and all

  • Thanks for the update, fellow sixties boy. all seems to be boding well, fingers crossed

  • Thanks 60sboy , enjoyed reading your observations. I wonder if BA was using Robinson at FB as a backup ploy or is there actually some real competition for the FB spot. I just assumed that Hoppa had the role.

    • I like him. Not sure why the hate by Raiders fans for Robinson. He's certainly elusive, reminds me of Clinton Shifofske with his ability to beat the first defender. He's a handy pick-up for sure.

    • Robinson will be a handy asset for the club in more ways than one.

  • Thanks Sixties

  • I told all you clowns months ago - " William Hopoate will not be playing fullback".
Nobody believed the Chief back then but I scooped this major story lol.

Miatch and Ron especially, - always trust the Chief.
  • Great stuff Sixtiesboy, sounds like alot of effort being put into Pauli Pauli to get him to take his game to the next level.

I'm guessing that it probably goes hand in hand with a new attacking structure
