Training blog 6/1/15

With the old eyes a bit better today I thought I'd pop down to training again today. Here's today's observations:Hoppa at fullback. During opposed sessions he chimed in nicely. Great overlap try created.IDG and Peats alternated between orange and blue teams. Many first grade forwards in the orange team with Wenty backs. Eg Mannah, Sefa, Tepai, Junior, Watmough.Huge talk again at Pauli to help his positioning.Nathan Davis the orange fullback. He is getting much bigger.Champion coaching Faraimo in wing defence. Talking him through it. (Orange team)Robinson looks like he will be kicking. He was working on his goal kicking and kick offs after the session.IDG again doing extra kick work after training.Lots of talk again. Hoppa looked very good at fullback. Lots of talking and organising.

  • The funny thing was the coach reactions to the overlap try. Lots of praise for the blue team, esp Hoppa. Not so happy with the orange defence and let them know it.
    • You're like our own little traffic helicopter with updates lol or mb maxwell smart :-)
  • The updates are always appreciated 60's...

The only downside I can find is the fact that it makes you even more impatient for the season to start!

  • Thanks 60's. How is Darcy Lussick training? Who are the probables for the centre spots so far?

    • He was in the orange team today. As I said it looked like a real mashup. Seemed like the focus today was on defence and dealing with repeat sets. Perhaps that's why there was the team mashup?
    • True Eel, I'd like to know too, however my take on what was written was that the teams were somewhat mixed. Maybe Blues were the first grade backs, and Orange has first grade forwards.
  • Is Wicks training (don't remember anyone mentioning him in any previous training blogs) and if so what are your impressions.

  • Thanks 60, have to start calling you 'sideline eye Tony Mcgay'

    • ha ha sideline eye Tony Meghey....that's gold! blast from the past!

although I did note the 'Mcgay' spelling Snake ;)

    • I'm sure they called him Magoo. I was certainly Mr Magoo yesterday!
