"Super, well said. As Captain noted he probably needed to rethink his "Offical (sic) Statement". It wasn't his best work, and he didn't run it through a spell check."

Wasn't it yesterday?
If the the question is 'Which Dragons player got bitch-slapped by Nathan Brown?', then the answer is definitely Trent Barrett.
I have to say I really don't understand them sacking Toovey. He is a favorite son on the northern beaches and got Manly to a Grandfinal 2 seasons ago which they were very competitive in against an excellent Rorters side and would have won if not for SBW coming good in the second half.
This was clearly a rebuilding season but he still has the team going pretty well in the back end of the year.
I am a firm believer that your head coach is really a figurehead, someone to play for. Its the assistant coaches who may be more up to date with modern structures and gameplans that can assist with those aspects of the game.
Look at the most successful coaches over the last decade Bellamy, Hasler, Bennett - they are not recently retired footballers. But they are man managers and motivators. I think Toovey fits that bill for Manly.
Assistant coaches run the side and have a far greater role these days without the pressure or accountability who I comes with the head coach . Look elsewhere in my opinion
