Hayne train who?

The real locomotive has arrived, the Lane Train. All aboard now because it stops at no stations.

I backed him as a very good acquisition during the off season and nothings changed, im backing him to gain cult status with us if he can keep injury free and on the park.

Theres a lot to like about him but what i like most is hes an instinctive footy player who's always sniffing around the action.

He's got good anticipation and instincts as to where the plays going. He ups the ante with this around the oppositions line, im backing him to top our try scorer  in the forwards this year.

He's like a gangly Irish wolfhound sniffing out a wounded rabbit on the line, you'll often see him in the right spot at the right moment ready to capitalise on the opportunity.

He's got good awareness for support play, a nice offload, hes a hard working 80 minute player and doesnt shy the tough stuff, enthusiastic, hungry, whats not to be impressed about?

I actually see a few leadership qualities to his game, hes no passenger out there and knows he can have a big contribution out there, seems quite a mature player.

He was a standout at manly last year and the best player on the park in a few of their games and he's only going to get better as he matures.

Welcome to the club Shaun, keep on doing what youre doing and you'll be embraced by eels fans and go on to create a big cult following im tipping.

All aboard the Lane train! Tickets?

Any thoughts on him?

  • I agree, so far he's been great for us.  Does add another dimension, it appears the team are aware of his off-loading capabilities as there is someone there to accept the off-load.

I was concerned when Mau was side-lined, but with Lane and Nuikore we're not losing much.

  • Miaka = Hard mineral

    The Rock Sivo

  • Lol, the Lane Train. One of your best Snake.

I do agree that he looks the goods. Touch wood he can stay injury free and continue to develop into a really high quality player.

  • Snake = The Lame Train. HA got em!

    • Lol, very expensive tickets for that train Khags, no clothes allowed either.

  • Jeez he's a big drink of water isn't he?  :)

I can't believe Manly let him go. I was super excited when we signed him - will go close to being the recruit of the year I reckon.

    Tickets please . . . all aboard . . . The Lane Train!!!

    • Don't know what's going on at Manly, they told Gutho he could search out other clubs!!

      • They wanted to keep Lane, we just offered too much and a promise for a 1st grade gig.

Credit to BA on this one, he got it right.

    • He's got a neck like a swan and limbs like a baby giraffe but im a big fan Kram, we'll ride the front carrage, youre in charge of the horn my good man, probably the most important gig on any locomotive..
