Too many Indians no CHIEF

After watching matty johns saying a little bit about the eels and having too many indians and no chief i had to agree. We have hayne, mortimer, mateo, robson, keating which are all good ball players but their is no chief. Someone preferably in the halves needs to stand up and take charge. whats everyones thoughts about this?

  • You'd think the 7 (whoever it will be this week) would have the balls to stand up and take control of the team.
  • I stated the exact words 3 rounds ago in a blog the side does not sem to have any direction in the forwards or the backs just the body language and the lack of talk behind the goal posts is a bit of a concern!!
  • Mortimer hasnt matured as a leader yet. He's talented but wont demand the respect from the team and take the game by the scruff of the neck like JT, Cronk and Kimmorley will. His contribution to the team this year will be his positive attitude and work ethic....his strength as a leader will come. I rate Ben Smith as a leader.
  • robson? *dry coughs*
  • Being a captain has nothing to do with orchaetrating attack which is what this post is about.

There is nobody running the team in attack..... there isn't any natural ball players in our squad aparta from Meteo either.... That is what they are refrring to.
  • Morts is the little chief

he'll step it up this week

    MOM performance me thinks
  • i think that mortimer being the half or 5/8 and all the talk around him has to step up and take the lead, we cannot count on hayne week in week out to do top defence and then all the attack, he doesnt have time to focus on his own game because hes too busy doing everything. I have too agree with paul kent and what he said on the matty johns show about the eels have won so many matches because of hayne, and we cannot rely on him all the time, also with the contract negotiations they both have good points, why delay the negotiations for other clubs to get a jump on our players but then yes they should perform before being offered a contract if not it should be a lower contract .
