Random thought, looking at the eels issues I think a lot of it comes down to the amount of competition in Sydney. Growing up in Brisbane the only thing you hear about is the broncos and they have a strangle hold on the junior prospects. The amount of teams fighting for resources in Sydney is a big issue especially when certain teams with more power hoard the talent. I.e roosters.

Our management in recruitment is rubbish. There's no reason why the Eels can't poach the best qld development players to compensate any deficiencies we have in our jnr development.
We have the worst football management in the nrl.
One clown 🤡 is already out , but there's a couple to follow him.
It isn't great but teams like wests, dogs and panthers ect all in the same area and are all fighting for players. Makes team building much tougher when 5-6 teams are fighting for players
💯
Certainly hasn't bothered the Panthers over the past few years.
They currently are in a strong position yes, but the rest are weakened severely
Most of the panthers team has been picked off by the dogs and tigers. Players happy to move from club to club if the money is there. Very little lifestyle change
True Coryn. To add to that why wouldn't you get Brian Smith with his experienced footy brain & IQ, in the footy dept? Unless he has health issues, it's a no brainer.
Fine, keep MON for his hands on title winning playing experience. But good players with business degrees doesn't always equate to good decision making or understanding of coaching or how to build a club properly. It's also odd we don't hear a peep out of Buckets publicly. He doesn't have a problem talking and loves a yarn. It would seem a club strategy, no?
I hope Brian Smith isn't coming down to political ideologies "the future is not in the past" in the Hot, New Era? Bloody Ideas, Appearances and Optics in the head, over competence. Again.
Krist I hope not. If so, remove all the old board members head to toe.
Yep the Sydney Market is saturated. We should get rid of those clubs with no junior base and the smallest fan base. that dont travel, I say goodbye to the Eastern Suburbs Rorters, The Manly Warringah Whingers and you can throw in the the Canturbury Bankstown Dogs.
Let the Balmain Tigers and the Western Suburbs Magpies take their territories and develop into a powerhouse club from Chatswood to Campbelltown.
P.S Im not biased much.
Lets get on board "The Western Sydney Panthers"...we can join the Wests and Illawarra scap heap of irrelevancy were they were the blue and gold eels jersey once a year and all Parra DNA gets lost to history....
Then we can join the Norths and Blue bag fans at NSW cup matches reminising about the Parramatta Eels glory days in the 80s and also attend the 50 year reunion for the 86 team hahah smh
The irony is both wests and Illawarra are ones with financial backing and you've like said have became irrelevant
