Especially after tonight's game watching him as a backrower, I would dearly love to see the T-Rex back in Blue and Gold. I've always thought he would eventually be a rep-quality backrower and tonight only affirmed that opinion.
He gives us two options: 1. As that damaging second rower steaming off the short ball, but he can also play centre or wing if needed. As such, he'd really strengthen the roster, and I can't think of anyone on the market he would represent as much value as he would right now. I'd probably use him in that dual capacity next year, and then the following year when we have a few second-rowers off-contract/retiring, make the move into the pack permanent.

The problem I see though, is if Kearney would want to recruit him. Would he fit the style of play and coaching? I think if his heart is with Parramatta then he would adapt. Would be a great signing and even if we don't use him as a forward, putting him on the wing next year would give us one of the biggest backs' combinations in the NRL; Hayne, Loko, Williams all 100+ kilograms.
Manly used to score a tonne of tries with this guy by dumping him on the wing and getting him one-on-one with the opposition winger close to the line. He's unstoppable at that range against one defender, and when he runs hard he is one of the most damaging players in the NRL.
