Tonight’s win

I know as Parra fans we can't get too far ahead of ourselves but tonight was a fantastic performance with a well deserved fantastic win. I know it's a long season & 1 game at a time but I am buzzing after that win tonight & thought I'd ask for a bit of fun where does tonights win rank for everyone in say the last 5-10yrs?

For me it was the best win & most complete Parramatta performance I've seen against a quality opposition for a long long time

  • I would have to agree Lurker.

I still don't think anything trumps beating the Dragons in the first week of the finals in 09 though, seeing all those Dragons fans leaving early..... Oh what a day to be a Parramatta supporter.

    • That's certainly up there mate, I think the houses 4 streets over heard my house hold yelling that day.

    • That was an amazing game... Probably gets my pick.

Another great game that stands out was against the Roosters a couple of years ago (2016 I think), Norman had an absolute blinder where we came from behind in the second half to win. We were going through the Salary Cap drama, injuries galore and got them late in the second half. That was pretty satisfying.

    • Great game mate, the highlight was Jaryd telling the Saints fans to shhhhh after THAT try :)

      • Kram, that try and gesture is what I boldly remember about Hayne.

And probably the try he scored that night at Penrith when we came from 20ish-0 down to win, he took a bomb, weaved in and out of a few defenders and ran 80 metres to score.

The most gifted player to have ever played in my opinion, could do the lot!

  • For the last 10 years, when it mattered we have failed to beat Melbourne. A full strength Melbourne I mean. There were no excuses tonight. It was tough, uncompromising, unrelenting and very high quality. The best Eels win in a decade.
Im not saying we'll win it this year, but I am prepared to say we are now officially a real contender. Bring on the Roosters.

    • Yep. Agree Mutts, if we can jag a few more wins by the time we play the Roosters in Round 9 (Sharks, Tigers, Dragons, Raiders, Broncos, Bulldogs) & knock them off I think we are a shot at winning the comp.

But as I said in my blog I don't wanna get too far ahead, 1 game at a time, great win by the boys tonight & im gonna enjoy it for the weekend for sure.

    • Like you said Muttman, we beat a full strength storm.

No excuses like when we beat them last year with half the side missing.

Definitely the best and most complete game I have seen from them in a hell of a long time.

    • Hard not to get excited by tonight but at the end of the day it was only one win.

Melbourne will lose more games this season and those teams most likely won't be contenders.

If we can repeat tonight down in Melbourne I'd be happy to say we are contenders.

Maybe even a gritty win in Canberra on a cold day.

Just got to take it a week at a time.
