Tonight's game.Probably the best game this weekend.

It should be interesting to see how both coaches/ teams approach this game . Will it be business as usual or a different emphasis on how to win finals football ? Broncos have the individual brilliance. I wonder how Bellamy can get his mob up. A good game on paper.Looking forward to this one.. Would we be competitive in this one?

  • Interesting question Tad, i.e. would we be competitive......my answer would be yes against Storm and no against Broncs and that not saying Broncs will beat Storm......most certainly this year I think some teams suit playing others that in turn someone else can't beat.

I think we showed this with Penrith, i.e. the more energetic sides forwards and backs driven and then relying on defence, we come unstuck against fast moving play makers with speed and good lateral movement. We had no answer's to Paas and Carrigan and then Walsh and Mam running off them, throw in there back rowers are faster than our centres and wingers!

    • Good response Pops.I think much the same way. We would struggle against the Broncos. Let's see what happens tonight and whether Bellamy can produce something special

  • Think broncos can finally beat storm tonight

    • God I hope not. Storm are the only chance of keeping Panthers from a threepeat.

      • Storm aren't the only team that threaten the Panthers. The Panthers last game was against a deplorable Cowboys team. The Eels exposed the Panthers the week before. The way to beat the Panthers is with diverse tactics more than structured grinding play. The Broncos play a lot of ad-lib style plays combined with strong power/fast plays with strong defence. The Panthers win most of there games from kicks and obvious online defence and referee calls going their way. Cleary scored a try last week against the Cowboys which was 100% a no try and yet the bunker gave it the green light. The Warriors could also beat the Panthers if they play well for 80 minutes.

        • That may be true but who in the top 8 plays that style of football? Realistically the only chance of the Warriors have is in their unpredictability. Broncos haven't been able to beat Storm or Panthers this year, even with their dominance. Besides, they're a young squad they don't really win 'grind' games. I can't imagine Panthers or Storm are going to be so overwhelmed by an all out assault from the Broncos.

          • Good observation Byron When Broncos played Panthers nothing was between them for half the game until Panthers wore them down in the last part of the game.Of Storm can hold them for more than half the game Storm may overcome them in the latter stages

            • Thanks Tad. Ultimately the game doesn't matter as they get a second chance. But whoever loses would go to the other side of the finals series and play Penrith in the semis, I think. Where I feel Panthers would rather play Broncos rather than Storm.

      • You're obviously a student of the game. Penrith have had the wood over the Storm for a lengthy period. The Bronco's power game is the only chance of stopping Penrith,  or a Kalyn Ponga master-class.

        • I don't think I'm obviously anything really. It's just an opinion. Much like yours. Which is fine, because we've all got opinions. Penrith having the wood over the Storm really means nothing. Storm had it over Broncos and we know how that worked out the other night. Parramatta have had a lot of success against Panthers for the last five years of their dominance. Yet we too got beaten by a Panthers team who know how to win a finals match. Because they've been there. Broncos are young, with limited finals experience. And they have a fullback who is a few calls against him away from chucking a tantrum and stomping his feet. The power game of Broncos doesn't hold much weight against a structured, united defensive line.
