Tom Trbojevic Tackled In The Air Catching Ball?

Not sure of the rule but can a fullback still be tackled in the air catching a ball after the ball first bounced high off the ground? A try came from that tackle, Tom got injured and is off for the rest of the game.

It's deemed a fair tackle because it bounced. Pretty sure that's the rule.
