This is what I like about Humble, he knew that he would have to work if he wanted to make it at Parra, he has obviously seen where a club that is buliding for something and he wants to be a part of it.
The only thing i would say he lacks atm is size, but he is bigger than Morts and Morts used his small size to his advantage tremendously. I think Humble needs to put on about 8kgs or so, which is more than possible to occur in the off-season.
Obviously it will be hard for him to get a start in the 17 by the start of the season, but due to his utility value i'm sure it won't be long before he gets a chance. I think he is destined to star, child prodigy, Qld Under19's captain, Qld cup rookie of the year, Parramatta Premiership winner ;).
Have we not learnt anything from the Jarryd Hayne/fullback affair. We shunted him around because we tried to do the right thing by Burty who did well without being brilliant. You put the best players, in their best positions. Simple as that and my undestanding was the club was always going into next year, with the understanding that Morts and KK would be our halves and whoever was signed in that final slot would be doing so, knowing that was the situation.
Be in NRL top 17 by Round 4. These days, age is not that big an issue. They are educated through the same system from all levels at the club. Cant wait to see this backline in action. NOT a hooker IMO.
If Kris Keating doesnt get a shot this year, then there would be no doubt that he would move on at the end of the season. Thus leaving the Eels without a long-term halfback solution, which he is. He and Morts are young and should be given the chance to grow up as professional footballers together, potentially have the ability to be one of the best halves combos in the competition.
