Todd Lowrie (or just "The Todd")

Time for me to eat humble pie. I have pretty much bagged Todd Lowrie since he put on the blue n gold jersey but goddam, he is playing out of his skin. When the flower did he learn how to throw a cut out pass??I can't believe i am saying this, but he not only deserves his spot in the starting 13, but i think we should sign him up again (out a much lower price than current contract)Go "The Todd", keep up the good work son

Oh hang on, I am a lesser man. TOLD YOU SO
    Todd Lowrie Appreciation Blog
Todd Lowrie has copped an awful lot of crap from us fans (myself included), but I think its time to stand up and give the guy some kudos. His recent…
    • TKBK, ive been waiting for your next report from the eels camp for weeks now. Nows the perfect time with how good parras forms been!
  • Good players play well no matter what , when the team is playing shit or when the team is palying well.

He is not a good player, dont be fooled by his recent form, the sooner we get rid of him the better.
    • I pretty much agree with you shwgrl, its only a matter of time before he stuffs up. Yes he is playing good but seriously the way Parra are going anyone will look good we are on fire. Its one thing to throw a cut out pass to the winger but if the winger (Burt) doesnt perform the magic tricks with his boot and score we dont talk about those cut out passes. I say bring in Mateo now while the Eels are hot and hopefully he can keep the roll on.
  • keep him if we can afford him after we have taken care of the better players first.
  • lets just get rid of mateo and free up some cash and waste it on someone like a Corey Patterson
  • :-) This blog has just about made my day!

I completely agree. The Todd is doing so well and it is so pleasing to see. As for some suggesting he is just playing for a contract, I would argue that that has played a role in his current form, but I would suggest that the more dominant reason would be the current form of the whole team. Further, Lowrie, from what I can remember, has always been coached by Michael Hagan. Michael Hagan is notoriously remembered for a bit of a laid back attitude. Now perhaps, with the influence of Daniel Anderson, Lowrie knows he has to perform week in week out, is putting in and we are seeing the results.

As for players 'always being good' or 'always being bad', then how do we explain Grothe's poor form the last 2 seasons, and now suddenly he is back to his destructive best, or Hayne's form prior to what he has shown the last few weeks. Do I have to continue? There are a lot of things that make a player 'good' or 'bad' and I don't think it can ever be a static measure!

And just for the record, it is 'The Todd' as long as you give High Fives, or you can call him Todd '3 Dally M Points' Lowrie'. If you really want to get crazy though, it's 'let's all cheer loudly for Todd Lowrie!' But you have to sit with the Todd Squad to do that.
    • Here Here Mary. I've been saying for Months Lowrie goes hard. This year he finally has got a real go and performed - I reckon - very well. If we can afford him I'd been keeping him.

And Fiddy, glad to see you are big enough to eat your words. Well done.
    • There's a Todd squad?????
      • There most certainly is! And guess who is President? :-D

Oh my goodness!! 1Eyed, would you like to join? That would most definitely increase our credibility! You would also be the 10th member!
