Todd Greenberg interview on 2gb

I spoke to Ross Greenwood on his show Money News after he interviewed Todd Greenberg the clown. If anyone heard me call up and rip in at him for saying the game has never been better let me know. I spoke also about all the rule changes and the stupid new tv deal involving more crappy Thursday night footy, as well as the soft factor with no punching or defending yourself allowed.

  • Just to let everyone know i asked to speak to him directly but this didn't happen. It just shows he doesn't wanna talk to a fan with an opinion i think.
  • No punching is an essential change in the game. There is nothing 'hard' about punching, nor is removing it from the game soft
    • so instead we see what we saw tonight????? shillington threw two pretty solid head butts and not one person put one on his chin for it. complete and utter rubbish. are u telling me if you were out and someone did that to you you wouldn't wanna sock him in the mouth? and what made it worse was when the ref was sending him he was saying "but he threw the first punch" does that imply shillington did it to stir woods up to throw the first punch and try get him sent or because he did it thinking myeh i can do what i want no one will hit me back

    • All of you pansies go find another sport, punching happens in rugby league especially when such a thing as aggression is involved. Nobody likes a thug or an unwarranted punch but these components should just be dealt with accordingly. As for the shoulder charge i was brought up being told to tackle with my shoulder and not aim for the head. I know a life was lost recently due to contact with the head but we play contact sports for the collision and unfortunately rare cases like death do happen, i'm sure James Ackerman knew that death could happen at anytime onfield or not life is unpredictable. Please don't take it the wrong way but i just think we have more injuries without it and that the main thing is just greater penalties for head contact should be implemented. Pre no shoulder charges injuries were mainly lower body and compared to American Football where their brains are donated after death to science we were doing just fine. Plus is it my fault young kids playing footy now can't tackle for shit and i had a better technique?
    • All correct great read!!! ^ it's ruining our game, nothing wrong with you running at someone & they line you up for a shoulder charge. It's when there not looking or expect it that I think it's dangerous. As for the punch, it happens, it happens in all sports so it should be penalised if warranted then move on. All in brawl, different ball game. Journalist & goody two shoes that have just come into this game think they can control it & make changes to suit themselves.
  • No punching, no shoulder charges ect ect, have all been put in place in an attempt to bring new fans to the game but it's been done at the expense of its hardcore fans. Dangerous game they are playing by pissing off the long standing hardcore fans, I sure hope they know what they are doing there at the nrl.
  • Removing punching allows pussy grubs like Ennis to stir players up in acting out in frustration.
    • And that grub Soward, did you see him acting tough the other night? I bet he wouldn't have done that a few years back.
  • I think a lot of people would respect the 1-on-1. It's when it becomes more than that where it looks thuggish. Just create a culture like the NHL have.

    • agreed, the nhl have it spot on. if ur being a grub someone call u on it and u sort it out, it would end this rot we have at the moment in an instant
