  Who died and made you the only expert whose opinions matter? If some people rate him as having potential, they are entitled to that view. Jack Gibson was one of the best coaches in developing and recognising talent but he also had patience with young players when they needed it. One bad season does not mean he won't make it. There is not one player in the current Aussie cricket team that haven't been dropped at some stage, its how you respond that counts. I hope Daniel proves the knockers wrong but if he doesn't he won't be the first player with bags of potential that don't live up to it.

  Mortimer is far from being just potential. He's an adorable kid, full of gettup and go !

  Michael you never know. Imagine Mortimer outside the Ox ? It might work. Ox setting up plays, Mortimer backing up bringing us a bonanza of points. Remember 2009 Mortimer was on fire and the king of back up.

  Mate Ppl are gonna agree with and others won't.. While I agree morts hasn't set the world on fire and I'm not convinced he will anytime soon... 1 thing we must remember is the kid is 20 odd, when jt played for the dogs he was a scrawny little kid who the dogs saw as a kid with potential, but couldn't squeeze him into the cap... Look at what's happened since.. I'm not saying morts will turn out to be a jt.. But ffs surely u can't say a kid so young can't improve his game, what he's had 20 odd games to prove himself... And cause he hasn't your saying let's piss him off???? Come on mate wake up!!!

  I watched the 2009 DVD the other day and Morts was right behind Hayne. If Hayne wasnt super man then morts would have got heaps of recognition. Give him some time. Heel hit back

  Did you doubt his potential in 2009, or were you riding on the back of it?
  
  While i agree he has a lot to improve on, lets bear in mind that he is still a young kid and has plenty of years to work on his game. He will come good. :)

  I say give him one more year he deserves it. He has potential just not at 7 but as a 6. His good form in 09 was apparent in the 6 jersey not 7. It was andos fault for persisting with Jonas a half when it clearly didn't work out. He only played a couple of times at his usual 5/8 position this year so he deserves one more year. Remember a player cannot lose his talent and he's got heaps of it but ando never capitalized on it.
