Time to Unleash Bevan French

If hes available maybe its time to give Bevan French ago.I am sure he could slot into 5/8 from playing fullback. At least we would have a player with the X factor. If we dont use the kid he will just go elsewhere. With the possibility of loosing our points (dud NRL decision) why not take the risk and unleash possibly our most exiting young player.

  • Except he has played one game all season and is out for another 3-4 weeks
  • His time will come but it's not now. Besides being injured, they won't unleash him straight into NRL. He's one for the future and still learning. Patience.
  • His fragility against bigger bodies is showing, 2 injuries this year. BA wont use him till he strengthens up
  • The level he plays for atm is just right for French. He needs time to recover and develop for his primetime, he needs to work his way up the divisions in order to get used to and absorb the strength and big hits at the NRL level. In due time French will be a machine for the eels NRL grade.
  • I'll address you here Poppa as by the time I saw your post you and your band of merry men had my thread deleted .

Let's address my posts you had issue with first and foremost . Like all my first reaction was shock and disbelief and the thought of " here we go again " , and yes my first post on the matter was how much are we paying this bloke ?

Then as word flowed through as to the issue , my thoughts turned to " what a mole " and then discussion on scenarios of what slutguts birds are entitled to . I feel for him , but unlike some I'm not an emotional mess , I'm here for discussion and I'll discuss it as a realist . The worlds a crazy and horrible place at times and in modern days when people are being slaughtered and murdered daily through drugs , war and violence you'll have to forgive me for being seemingly a bit heartless about a footy players domestic issues . Actually heartless is the wrong word here as I could only imagine what it'd feel like if I was in a similar situation , I'm more of a discussion type person as you know so you'll have to excuse me if I overstep the imaginary line you have drawn in the cyber sand and comment how I feel fit . I actually find it quite hypocritical ( and I'll excuse you from this Poppa as I know you batted for Sandow ) that we have so much love and compassion here even to the extent of deleting factual threads , yet guys like Sandow were called Drunks and degenerates and teased for Smashing a commodore , Hoppas personal life's been beaten to death , Hock who stayed in England to keep his wife happy ( maybe to avoid similar situation to Foz ) has been ridiculed non stop , and a dearth of other Eels players have had their personal space invaded daily , Ben Barbas personal issues were debated to no end , even Reni Matuia was slammed after some dark revelations , and The Fong has been allowed to run riot on Steve Sharp for years, drawing a long bow yes , but hey if personal stuff is off limits then who gets to make the law as to what's allowed and what's not ? You ? , yet all of a sudden any type thread that is not running inline with the " leave Foran alone mould " is deleted and the author called heartless , give me a break . Is there another club that is even in the ballpark as us with the amount of big signings that fall victim to some kind of let's call it " issues "? No you say ? Great , I agree . Therefore is it fair to say we'd seemingly ( bearing in mind I don't believe in actual voodoo ) we'd be cursed in this matter ? Hence my tongue in cheek reference to being cursed .

As I said , I feel for the guy , I know blokes who've had a real rough run due to the fluff , but if you want to question my morals and logic over a blog that's nothing more than factual statements that most big signings our club signs come with some kind of baggage albeit physical , emotional or even addictions then I'm happy for you to debate it with me . The fact the thread was deleted is comical , I'm actually surprised that the " journalists " running the site would succumb to the pressures of a few members and censor factual free speech that doesn't break any of the sites codes of conduct. The main line in my thread was ,

Big signings that have had " either " personal issues or have flopped . I didnt wish him any hardship or critisize him , I mearly added him to a list of players .

If it makes the pacemaker drop a gear , I appoligise to the members who donned their Tampax and took offence to their good personal mate Foz being added to my list , who I'm sure was sitting at home dabbing the tears away whilst reading my horrible thread at the thought of being included in such a big time viral sensation list that some unknown muppet named Wizard Sleeve Mach 2 had penned .
  • He's out injured
He's not experienced against bigger bodies yet and we are playing the biggest team in the comp
    He isn't a 5/8th
  • I'm also offended by the title of this blog . Considering our country's history and Bevan is Indigenous you should be ashamed of yourself P4E . I'd ask you to edit the title please .
    • How come I missed this post by you wiz?   A question mate?  have we gone to such an extreme in having to ensure everything we say is a test of political correctness?

Sheesh I worked with & have had a lot of aboriginal friends over the years, & gee we used to rub it in to each other in so many ways & all we did was laugh with each other.  I'm Irish decent, & gee I could get very offended with a lot of stuff said about the Irish, likewise the old stereotyped way to draw Irish people in cartoons.

Eric Joliff would be turning in his grave these days or spending every minute in solitary confinement with his cartoons.

  • Wiz

No problems with what you have just said, however is this the right thread for your post?

    Cheers
