Time to restart and rebuild

It’s sad to say it but Arthur’s tenure has expired with this playing group they aren’t responding like previous years. Time to move on and appoint a new coach and rebuild this roster properly and precise and not playing the moneyball!

  • Let’s see if anything changes now that the season is over. This weeks combination is different to most
  • For sure, definitely do not want him in charge of any of our recruitment going forward, the quicker Brad, Grima and Murphy are gone the better, these guys are completely useless without Gentle.

Cayless also must be sacked as Wenty coach and removed from the club ASAP, his tenure has been nothing short of diabolical, that he has been put anywhere near junior development is the most insane thing ive ever heard, poor bloke can hardly string an intelligent sentence together.

He was never the sharpest footy player and comes across as a first class dope, thats not how you build a platform for success, another golden boy been given the position.

Kidwell needs to be axed, bringing him in shows just how pathetic BA really is.

Our clubs a comnplete and utter disgrace.

    • I would give ba a assistant role. Worth giving him that I believe. The issue is all this name's getting thrown up. They are crap are failed elsewhere. We're in need of one of the best to sort this crap out which is now been going on for decades. Not just in BA's time, is it a curse?

I believe only Bellamy or Bennet is the answer. The are also the best in the business. Which we might need to pay whatever we have but in the long run we will get it back. After 3 to 4 years under them ba will know what to do.
      • Could you imagine BA taking a back seat to a new coach? or any coach doing that? cant see it happening mate.

    • I’ll stop short of calling the club a complete and utter disgrace.. however can’t help but agree with most the comments about our staff. I cannot understand how they looked at Kidwells resume and said “that’s the man we need”! I’m not yet convinced BA is a deadman walking. I think he needs better people around him. If he’s the one stopping this then I guess he needs moving on.
      • Kidwell was probably the only one who applied.

  • Ok Ed but this has been said over and over. You’re not going to get too many arguments here.

I looked back on the statement Gurr made last week on doing “a review of all our processes”. Which apparently includes recruitment, junior program, salary cap and player roster.

However I couldn’t find a timeframe on whether this process has started, who’s doing the review or when it will be finished anywhere.

In the corporate world, this is what’s called a spill and fill. Restructure the whole department and advertise all roles in the new structure. Those who don’t have a role are moved on, everyone else needs to re-apply for their role again.

    Stay with me...

If this is now the beginning of Burnie’s structure (perhaps he inherited the current one and needed it to fail first to get the board to approve a restructure), will he personally pick the coaches, the football manager, recruitment managers? I’m convinced this is the now final act of BA and all of his staff.

How long will Gurr take to finish this? Six weeks? I guess it depends on the recruitment process. It would be nice to at least have the new coach by seasons end.
    • Bernie couldn’t even secure a sponsor , how can we trust the fool to secure a decent coach ?   He will probably try to do it himself .

    • Bernie isn't the guy to fix this. First thing he needs to do is hire an experienced Football Manager who comes to the club with a truckload of experience but importantly armed with a comprehensive plan to establish the game's best Football Department structure. All Bernie needs to worry about is how to pay for it and given our revenue and sponsorship is one of the lowest in the NRL maybe Bernie should focus his energies on that and leave the Football Department execution and strategy to people who actually know what they're doing.

      • The problem Mutt is those kinds are fairly short in supply, unless experienced doesn’t necessarily mean name recognition.
