Time for a change.. but where ?

Well once again the rhetoric will be around let’s sack the bush coach after the latest disappointing loss.. and perhaps rightly so…
But…let’s put a & few thing into perspective.
1. Our much vaunted front row will get themselves up for a challenge against the best in the competition, but.., it seems do not have the intestinal fortitude to back it up the following week.
2. Reed (aka little Judas) is a cancer that must be cut out now!
3. Gutho overplays his hand every week and puts undue pressure on the side.
4. Moses for all his maturity still needs to learn some poise when the game is in the balance. He needs to minimise the risky play when conditions warrant the smart head. He also needs to be more involved when the play runs against us and we need to see some direction.
5. Blind Freddy can see our sliding defence creates opportunities for a slick backline to capitalise nearly every set.. time to change our approach and eliminate the overlap
6. Perhaps King Arthur is not the man to deliver our metaphoric Excalibur moment.

Yours sincerely

A broken 🦄

  • 1. I dont think our much vaunted front row has any depth behind it. BA wants to play a power game through the middle... but we have nothing behind Junior and Reg. Kaufusi hasn't developed , Makatoa is a reserve grader who hasn't missed a game for us this year and Marata is an edge being asked to play in the middle. We want those 2 to take on every pack every week and its a huge ask especially come middle of the season. There is no plan B in BA's coaching manual.

    2. Reed is garbage. Can't wait to see the back of him. His running game and attack are non existant but its his defence which bugs me. Has he gone into 1 tackle this season with any intent? For a coach that bangs on about winning collisions im not sure Reed has won one. Its conceding post contact metres or a legs tackle. Pick your poison.

    3. Guthos form has been down but I dont think hes in our top few problems.

    4. I dont think Moses overplayed his hand.. I think he played boring structured footy. He didnt engage the line at all just dumped the ball off to get us to our pre-determined spots. We waste so many plays setting up our attack its awful. As JT said on the coverage last night we play such little footy and have far too many set up plays. 1 play we had 2 play the balls in a row on the same blade of grass.

    5. Our defensive structure is completely broken and has never been fixed. The number 1 reason why BA should be sacked today.

    6. Agree

  • Gutho to Centre effective immediately.

Cartwright to the bench effective immediately

Russell in for Simonson effective immediately

Perham to fullback effective immediately. If I it fails then swap with Russel for this season. Dunster to come in next season to replace Perham. Waqa not making the team next season.

Put an AVO on Sivo / Blake pairing effective immediately. Put Gutho or Penisini on his side.

Rodwell  on the bench effective immediate.

    Bench

    Cartwright

    Rodwell

    Kafusi

    Brown

Stop messing around with the interchange effective immediately.

    • You left out Flanagan in for BA effective immediately

      • Yep like now today not week 1 next year.

        • Exactly !!!!

show the players this is where it is at - new slate anything could happen

they are as sick of him as we are im convinced

        • Exactly asap

  • All that is true but at the end of the day, the buck stops with the coach. He has to go and go now.

Some players may need to join him.

Some are saying that we need to put a another broom through the place, but the issue is that this has been done twice before with the squad and still we are getting the same results - the common denominator now unfortunately is the coach - bye bye BA and take JA and MA with you.

    • I don't think it is a case of BA is the man anymore regardless of the criticisms coming his way.

BA has shown terrible judgement since the JA thing started and now has selection issues across the board.

What we do know but is that essentially we are not good enough.....the athleticism of these young up and coming sides leaves us far behind. I don't think I have seen as clumsy a side with the ball on the ground as Parra. I watched last night again thinking how unlucky we are with the bounce of the ball.....unfortunately it has gone past luck and now enters the field of skill.

In the interview with BA before the game and referring to the trip to Wyong he said we did nothing different.

Well if you went to Wyong.....why did you go if you did nothing different? i.e. practice playing for the loose ball, picking it up and recovering.....high kicks are getting knocked back and we are not in position to catch the knock backs.

I thought afterwards that Adam Reynolds dominated the game, I wonder if Moses playing for the other side would have done the same.....it seems to me that Moses is on the right and is not involved in every play as Dyllan plays the left....the skill levels are very different left to right as that was the side we attacked down.....Moses kicking skills are much better than Dyllan's but we are hiding him on the side we are not attacking through......that's coaching and field tactics and another example doing the same thing......

I think BA is a wonderfully committed coach but one that is not very bright....he has done a great job but is now 2 years past his expiry date. I think we need a caretaker coach to see what he can get out of this team....I suspect that fundamentally they are not good enough.....Ciraldo is our best chance as at least he knows what is second best in the Penrith system as I strongly suggest their second best is better (development perspective) than any of our best that we have seen.

I am not gutted after last night as I thought the commitment was fine, just the skill, class, power and speed lacking.....saying it again "not good enough"

      • You're talking all about attack here poppa, but you fail to acknowledge we let in 36 points in defense.  Was our "commitment fine" in defense.  Cmon. Let's get real here. BA is a dead man walking
