Wests Tigers centre Tim Simona is set to knock back lucrative offers from rival NRL clubs to remain with the joint-venture outfit, according to reports.
Rugby League Week is reporting that Simona is willing to accept less money at the Tigers, where he is currently in career-best form playing outside veteran winger Pat Richards.
Off-contract at season’s end, Simona has attracted interest from the Canberra Raiders and Cronulla Sharks about a potential move in 2016.
However the 23-year-old wants to remain at the Tigers alongside the players he grew up with at the club.
“I grew up coming through the ranks here and if they give me another chance to play here I’ll take it with two hands,” Simona told RLW earlier this month. “I came through with Sauaso Sue, David Nofoaluma and Aaron Woods . . . it feels like home. We’ve all played together as juniors. I think the club is in good hands, and I think with all these young kids here the Tigers have a bright future.”
Simona has been named in the Samoan squad that will take on Tonga on Saturday night at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast.

You are joking, right?
"playing outside veteran winger Pat Richards."..... Is Simona a touch judge?
