Tim Mannah needs to lift big time

Look at Mannah's stats for today's game.

A paltry 28mins for 68m from 7 runs. That's just not good enough from our co-captain who's meant to lead the way and be one of our best forwards. Less than half an hour of game time is pathetic to be brutally honest. He must be averaging among the fewest minutes in the comp for a starting prop forward. Our poor form over the past month has been down to our forwards not aiming up in my view and Mannah hasn't played particularly well. Brown and Ma'u have been carrying our forward pack. As our senior forward Mannah needs to massively improve his game.

Sorry for pouring cold water over today's spirited win but the Tigers should have put us away leading 22-10. Still lots to work on. Go Parra.

  • Timmy needs to be shown the door.

    • Agree but he's not off contract until 2019. We're stuck with him for a while.

    • Yes yes yes
  • Timmy is not the player he was time to start him from the bench.
    • Him and Vave in the middle minutes
  • Actually woulda thought 68m for 7runs in 28mins are pretty damn good stats. But what would I know.
  • Not sure how it's his fault the coach is using him so poorly. His defence in the middle is better than most. Averaging almost ten metres a run. How is that bad?
    • His low minutes diminish his value. The vast majority of forwards can do over 40mins. A lot of the leading props for each club can do around 50mins. Mannah isn't carrying his weight in this team.

  • Mannah has been averaging a bit over 30mins a game this year. He's never played big minutes over his career. If he's being used more of an impact player then he's doing a poor job. Bottom line is we need more from our starting front rower.

  • His body language in the presser wasn't great. Seems to turn away from BA Every time he spoke? I think he's been playing OK though

"He might if the money was right. If the initial year was big and the CO year even bigger, why wouldn't he? As you say, he's still in demand. If we didn't activate the CO, it's likely he would have other offers."
