Tiger tactics

The ruck defense of the Tigers is abysmal and with our back row it's the area we need to exploit against the Tigers. The fact our halves continue to take on the line as well as our potent left side attack will have the Tigers outside men in perpetual engagement. This should open up the ruck to the offload and inside ball.Aaron Woods defense is deplorable often resulting in grabbing with his arms rarely hitting with his shoulder. With Woods being their main metre eater it makes sense to send most traffic his way, to one, tire him out as well take advantage of his ineffective tackles.I'm expecting Flash to score a hatrick with his support play this weekend. Our forwards and their offloads are our strength against the Tigers. Mau, Edwards and Paulo will trouble the Tigers defense. The key to stopping the Tigers strenghth which is their set backline moves is to incorporate an umbrella defense.in the first three weeks they continue to ignore their inside lead runner to engage the defense and shift it to the edge. They try to go around then through. An umbrella defense not only ensures you number up but force their attack back to the middle. Edge defense is our strength. Line speed with umbrella defense gives the Tigers few options but to turn the ball inside to Tedesco. It's a easy read and pedestrian. It's an interesting game for us. I expect us to be too methodical for the Tigers with our back rowers proving destructive. 38-10.

  • I thought you'd be on it. What about old Buffering, that warms the heart.
  • I think this is a real danger game.. I can c the Tigers being really fired up and throwing it around.. Not as confident as I would to b
    • I'm with you Pauli. Only seen the Tigers v Warriors game. In first half Moses was passing from halfway to winger and they were getting on outside of Warriors defence. We have to defend edges very well otherwise they will do the same with us. Shut their halves and Tedesco down and the game will be won. Confident BA has team primed for this one, Eels 36-12.

  • Haven't seen Our Defence this good in years. Last two years we were favourites against them and we lost both. But this year looks different. Hopefully Scott is fit
    • Yes Scott not being there leaves a massive hole

  • Forecast says cloudy, probably no need for umbrellas.
    • Maybe a shower in the morning near the coast they said, it'll be a dry track and a fast game

  • I think we need to keep making sure we expose the fact that Mitch Moses and Luke Brooks aren't really taking the line on much, just keep up the physical defence and cramp them similiar to what we did with the Cowboys halves pairing. However with Robbie Farah back I'm not sure if they'll play more direct?
    • They will, for some reason the tigers seem to play alot straighter with him at dummy half. Hopefully we are prepared for his and cherringtons scoots out of dummy half late in the 1st & 2nd halves

  • Scott will be there.
