Danny Weidler is a Channel Nine reporter.THERE is no question that Johnathan Thurston was considering walking out on the Cowboys after they opted to give him a breach notice following his arrest. That's why Parramatta were prepared for the Matt Orford deal to move slowly. Now that the police dropped the charges he is likely to stay put. The Eels are in almost daily contact with Orford's manager, George Mimis.

Thurston was a dream, orford is a reality... I hope those Ppl who said we had jt in the bag come back and say they were wrong................................... We will be waiting..

i think all new contracts have to be registered with the nrl by november 1. so time is ticking...

We just have to wait, don't we. With all the talk and sauce spilt everywhere, there must be something going on, we must be signing someone significant. (I still dream and hope for CC, yes I know it's just a dream)

I think the November 1 date is when clubs can start negotiating with players for 2012. Players can still be contracted to their current clubs and move elsewhere in season 2011, so long as its before June 30 2011. That's my understanding anyway

Actually Weidler gets the stories after they become fact and well known by others - so it is probably spot on.

I think if this dream comes true, I will personally go see Ozzy and plead for forgiveness after giving him a bagging on this forum, although it would probably be due to Kearney if anyone. Then we can all have an impromptu parade down Church St carrying Cronk on our shoulders.
