Three Way Tussle For Luke Garner

What are peoples thoughts on Luke Garner from Penrith, he has been given permission to find another contract ending his time at Penrith with a year to run on his contract. Able to play centre and second row. He has played most rounds this year for Penrith. Very versatile. The Eels are currently having a red hot crack at him behind the scenes. St George and now Manly have also entered the race for his signature. If Ryles wants him, and he is in demand by other clubs, I wonder if Mark O'Neil and his team can get it across the line.

  • just another work horse, nothing special but all teams need these players. Would be a good pickup and hopefully we are trying for Doueihi as well.

  • Bog average. We've got enough depth, we need quality.

  • It's like the JDB signing lifting the floor type of signing.

I think you plant him on an edge starting and we'd be better.Do they see Williams as an edge I don't know.

At this point in time are we looking for experience over talent.

  • No go. Panthers have just came out and said he isn't going anywhere

  • Yep from me. He ain't gonna light up the feild for us, and he's another old reject (jdb) but

He knows how to fully buy into a system when we are trying to get players to do just that

He is a recent premiership winner...he knows what it takes. Rub some of that on our kids

He seems calm...we don't. Our team has ALL of the lessons to learn. Garner might help that and cheapish i hope

  • I'd take him. Versatile, experienced back rower and reliable. Don't break the bank but he'd be a worthy addition. After Williams and Kautoga we don't have much in the way of NRL level backrowers. And even then Williams plays middle when we need him to.

  • Dear god no.

We have enough mid tier players at the club.

If he's not good enough for Penref, he ain't good enough for Parra.

    • Well that's spoken from a position of strength BEM

  • Love to get him but he wont leave panthers and i saw Nathan saying they wont let him go early
