Thoughts on women’s rugby league ???

YAfter reading negative sexist comments today on an earlier blog specifically against homosexuals viz a viz Israel F. I thought would be interesting to hear opinions as to future of women’s league . Will women’s sport bring new fans to the game ? Overall is it a good thing ? Is women’s league overated ? Are majority’s of male or even female league fans enthusiasts of women’s rugby league competitions? Is the game with resultant extra TV coverage including tonight’s womens SOO game on the brink of over exposure so fans could lose interest ? An elderly lady told me this week that  ladies should not  chase glory in men’s sports like cricket and rugby and football  ( but not staying why so clearly she was not comfortable with it ). Yes well cricket and rugby were started by men in the 19th century ( i.e.?the 1800’s )!and generally were only played by men for more than the first 100 years .

  • They will never be looked at as equally serious athletes as the men until they release the Women of league calendar

    • Bingo.

That's all that needs to be said really.

Fair for all isn't it ?

  • Im not against it BUT Im not that interested in it. So long as it  doesnt  eventually allow those that consider themselves 'females' who are actually 'males' to represent women! in this sport.. That would be unfair.

    • Don’t know Monto . I figure might be more unfair the other way round with genders involving men playing in women’s sports ?? Mind you I would not like some of our women players tackling me ??

  • yes mate . Would be a big seller !! Lol

  • Personally I don't like watching women play contact or collision sports, I won't be watching the women's Origin tonight. As a matter of fact, there are few sports that I do like watching women play. But, clearly some people do like watching it.

What I have an issue with is women wanting equal pay when they don't generate even a fraction of the kind of revenue that the men's equivalent does.

Women can have equal pay when they generate equal revenue.
