Thoughts on the Knights

what is everyone's thoughts on the Newcastle Knights? Real deal premiership threat or powder puff stuff? In other words once their bubble bursts it's all over red rover. Will the Eels also be similar? Once the Eels get beat will it be a string of losses or are they also the real deal?????

  • The real deal

I think the knight's premiership window is well and truly open like us it will be how they go vs the top teams but so far they look real good.

Like us i think depth will be the issue but they are playing for each other and are playing like the way Newcastle fans expect them to.

  • Mate

They are a tough side . Strike all across the field .  But can make mistakes in key areas .  Well coached and they play to their strengths .  Impressed with knights last week in adversity and thought they have come up flat .  Eat that up.

  • Parra has top quality 1 to 17 and are the real deal in 2020. Knights have superstars (Ponga, Pearce, Klemmer and this Best kid looks awesome) in their squad but probably not as strong 1 to 17 as the Eels.

    • Be good to have a Knights vs Eels Grand Final with an Eels victory to pay back the Eels humiliated loss some years ago to the Knights!

      • Mate, wouldn't that be good. I think if we can beat the Roosters and the Storm then we'll be the real deal.

  • Definitely top 8, one or two players off of champions. BUT they have a realy good coach (Robinson) understudy.

    • Actually he was Bellamy understudy than 1 year with Robinson so as far as apprenticeships go its pretty impressive

  • They played a really great game plan against the Raiders. Flat attacking structure, middle third, front foot stuff. Great line speed in D. They look well coached.
Raiders were poor. They didn't play to their strengths at all, executed poorly, made lots of uncharacteristic errors.

  • They are definitely top 8 for mine, I don't see them as top 4 unless Melbourne decline more rapidly than expected, and even then I still have Manly over them. Canberra were really bad last night, but the Knights were really good, they were probably the most impressive team of the round after the Roosters.

I'm reserving judgement on them for now, I still have them as 6th or 7th.

  • I was confident enough that the knights would win yesterday to have a pineapple on them head to head. I really like the knights. They have a good mix of youth and experience. Plus Ponga back was a huge in for them. I think they will finish top 6.
